Reasons we love this ruleset #439: It's quick to play, designed to give results within 45 minutes. Consequently, we were able to play 4 games during last week's campaign session. Now everybody's warband has played at least one game and gained some experience.

Right there with ya. We had a six player game on Saturday. Mostly new players at the table. Everyone had the rules down in one or two turns. The game was thrilling from start to finish. We used old Mage Knight figures and all together the rules, terrain and all models ran us less than the 6th ed 40k rulebook.

Very cool! I love how you created your own world (or island) & then the exploration rolls are adding details to it. I'm eager to see the next installment.

Sir Sam: Yes, that's the main reason why we play SBH. We enjoy collecting miniatures from lots of different manufacturers… our games regularly feature figures from Reaper, Citadel, Grenadier, MageKnight, D&D minis, Ral Partha, RAFM and many more, all rubbing elbows on the table together.

Black Cav: Stay tuned! We're aiming to play at least 4 games at our biweekly game night, so there will no doubt be lots more to come.

I'm one of the players in this campaign and I just wanted to make mention of how pleased I am with the "Song of Deeds and Glory" (SDG) supplement. I had put off getting it until we were prepping for the campaign and now I wish I'd gotten it sooner.

TMP members PatrickWR and Timlillig are creating scenarios, maps, etc, but SDG really takes care of all the warband advancement with a very nice straitforward post-battle system that encompases advances, exploration and the accumulation and use of experience and gold.

The only annoying thing is that SDG works best when you also have Song of Wind and Water, which I still haven't acquired yet.

Consider me inspired. The hook seems set. Our group is starting a SDG campaign and I'm thrilled to play a longer campaign game format.
