Do you use a display cabinet to store or display your painted miniatures, buildings, and other models? The cabinet could be anything from a china cupboard to a small nicknack cabinet and so on as long as it has shelves and is enclosed.

Yes
No
Not currently but I'd like to some day
I don't own any models or miniatures to display

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER01 Jul 2012 8:12 p.m. PST

NO!

McWong7301 Jul 2012 8:32 p.m. PST

Yes, a proper double sized glass display cabinet that I bought from Peter Nathan's Toy Soldiers when they moved out of the Tin Soldier. Cost me $1,300.00 AUD installed, and have never regretted it.

Once I have more space will invest in others. There's a guy in Sydney Australia who sells these and somewhat cheaper ones to hobbyists and collectors in Sydney, PM me if you want his contact details. It's not super duper cheap, but they are excellent quality and they do installation.

Yes for my collectibles including painted figures and various decorations.

IKEA has a number of good looking glass cabinets around a hundred bucks.

darthfozzywig01 Jul 2012 9:46 p.m. PST

Yes.

I have two IKEA "Billy" cabinets with extra glass shelves and glass doors for the minis, and another four for boardgames. They are in pairs, bolted together and to the wall.

ironlegs01 Jul 2012 9:49 p.m. PST

Yes,

Like darthfozzywig, som Ikea Billy shelves with shelves and doors as well as some smaller half height shelves. Keeps the dust away and fits lots in – terrain, paints, books, half done projects and more.

Ikea bookcases (no glass) with extra shelves for my figures, terrain in boxes.

wolvermonkey01 Jul 2012 10:13 p.m. PST

Not for my minis. I do have 2 big display cases for some of my anime figures though.

Sane Max02 Jul 2012 1:57 a.m. PST

I do have one, but gave up on getting more – If I were to put all my figures in them I would need 20, and taking them out and putting them back after a game is a bit of a PTA. Plus they attract dust.

I have a small case in my lounge filled with unfinished Army's just as a visual reminder to do the rest of the figures. The rest are stored away in my games room. Visitors quite like to have a look at what I'm doing.

CPBelt02 Jul 2012 4:05 a.m. PST

Awesome room, Ironlegs!

invisibleboy02 Jul 2012 4:43 a.m. PST

The house I moved into last year nicely came with a big old dresser with two glass fronted cabinets. More figure storage than I'll need for a good while yet.

Patrick Sexton Supporting Member of TMP02 Jul 2012 6:25 a.m. PST

Yes, but they are for the figures I paint for Barb. (Christmas, birthdays, anniversaries)
My stuff is in various Sterlite boxes in the garage.

Yes.

Rrobbyrobot02 Jul 2012 11:26 a.m. PST

I use an old home made china cabinet for some. A small sideboard and hutch for some others. Many of my 25mm figures are in wall mounted display cabinets in my game room, and in the living room.

kreoseus202 Jul 2012 12:08 p.m. PST

Once I re-finish my basement, my wife(!) insists I buy display cases for my figures.
