And if so, what era, or eras does it exist in? Do you have more than one? Depending on response, this might turn into a series of polls such as "do you have an 18th century imagiNation? do you have a 19th century imagiNation? etc." |
Lentulus | 27 Jun 2012 6:43 p.m. PST |
My mid-18th Century battles happen between a small collection of imagi-nations. No other periods yet, but I do not rule it out. |

I don't but not opposed to it, just don't play 18th century often enough. |

I'd love to do a 6mm modern imagi-nation someday but as of right now I have a renaissance Tudor project going. In the past, I started a Papal imagi-nation for Sam Mustafa's Maurice rules but never quite finished. |
Justin Penwith | 27 Jun 2012 7:15 p.m. PST |
I've started an imagi-nation here dutch-kent.blogspot.com but as it is a part of a campaign that is about a month away from starting 1708imagi-nation.blogspot.com I've not done much with it as yet. Once the campaign kicks off, I will have weekly posts and a lot more information
I'm still busy with the campaign rules and working on finishing up the map. Early 18th century appeals to me more than any other part of the early modern period as everything, militarily, was still evolving, which leaves me and my fellow players far more leeway in designing and developing our own nations. Should the campaign last long enough, my plan is to move the timeline forward to the WAS, with the player nations all (well, those that survive) existing and competing with the other powers in Europe. |

I have an imagination army for a Volley and Bayonet 18th century campaign. The forces of Monrovia supported by the client states of Cheddaristan and the free city of Cheecagou. |

Oh, and if it's not too much tell us a little about yours. What continent? (or for that matter is it on Earth (as we know it) or a fictional world?) |
Rudysnelson | 27 Jun 2012 7:40 p.m. PST |
Back in 1981 at Fort Riley, we were playtesting a campaign system for Guard du Corps. We used Imagin-nations using the old SPI Strategy map. it was mounted on a metal board and we moved massive armies markers mounted on magnets. At that time the system we used was a hex map system. since then the Supreme Warlord system has been refined to use area and point-to-point maps which I think represents warfare better in pre-1900 wars. |

I have an Imagi-Nation set during the Seven Years War, Litharus. But being unwilling to lay out the money for a fantasy army of historic figures, they are painted as Russians with homemade flags. I can also swap in historic Russian flags should the need arise. I did go to the trouble of generating a royal court with diplomats and such, but have had no opportunity to put it to use. Still, it's been fun. |

We are going to do Imaginations with Maurice,in 1/72 scale.Since I have a number of American Rev figures,I'm doing the Democratic Republic of Ameristan. I have a box of the Revell 7YW Hussars that will form the Presidential Guard and probably my only cavalry. The more I play it,the more I like Maurice. The cards really add a lot of flavor to it,and make it great to play. It's a lot of fun to draw a card, read it,look at your opponents troops and say"That'll be nasty!",so the cards give you a chance to bluff that the dice dont. The last game we played I drew the "That's not on the map card" and threw a rocky patch down in front of my oppents lines that were advancing on my guns.It seemed to stop him cold. |

modern/ near future/ street violence These strike me as separate genres, perhaps ought to be separate poll options. I used to have a couple of Central American Imagi-Nations back in the early 80s. I'd call them "modern", the equipment was a mish-mash of 50s – 70s. Now I have plans for pseudo-Balkan/Soviet successor states. These would be "contemporary/near future", i.e. equipped with stuff from 90s – today. I don't really see how street violence fits into this, but that may be a blind spot on my part. So, I'd offer these as voting options: Modern: ~1950 – 1990 Contemporary/Near Future: ~1990+ |

Yes, the modern period. Kardashia, set near the troubled Balkans, and 'stan region of the world, and run by a matriarchy currently, with a number of other sisters waiting in the wings, and squabbling with one another as they vie for supremacy, as most dysfunctional families are known to do. To date, not much in the way of actual action on the tabletop, but clearly there is a lot of potential. Kardashia typically just offers moral support to other dictators under siege, around the globe, for a large fee. Actual, but dubious military support is also available, for an even larger fee, paid in gold, diamonds, or other precious commodities that aren't subject to rapid devaluation, due to poor fiscal policies. Military equipment is primarily Russian built, with a smattering of Chinese thrown in as well, since the latter offer better pricing on their knock-off, ex-Soviet kit. Been thinking about developing a few others, to serve as allies, and/or opponents, after the last name brainstorming session on the subject. |

John the OFM, I'll bite. How have the evolved and what is Canada doing with it's own government in 1885? Yes the Confederation was nearly 20 years old by that point, but it was still very much part of the British Empire (in our timeline). |
