Hi Everyone,

If I can introduce our new additional range of miniatures based upon both 20mm – 1/72 & 28mm – 1/48 scales.

The Company is called ‘BlitzKrieg Miniatures' and we been producing vehicles for gaming companies now for many years, in fact chances are that if you have purchased either a 15mm or 1/56 resin tank in the last 2 yrs it probably would have been cast by ourselves, packaged up and sold by another well known gaming company!

We have of course been producing resin bases and alternative vehicle parts for many years and these will continue to be supported through the new website, to add to this we will be supplying you with gaming add-ons for all our supported scales such as tank traps, bunkers, MG nests, a fantastic new Atlantic wall and a great modular trenching system just for starters.

So I am sure you're all interested to know why these sizes? Well after talking to lots of gamers and reading forums, chat rooms and websites over the last few years there seems to be a lack of affordable & quality resin gaming vehicles to match the current range of miniatures at a size that gamers are happy to game with.

Having looked at the products currently available we decided to look at producing an alternative set of vehicles that look sensible and we feel match the size of the current ‘heroic' or ‘true' scale 28mm wargaming soldiers hopefully addressing some of these issues.

Our range has started with the Desert battles of WW2 and will of course cover all areas of the 1939 – 1945 Second World War as well as other periods right up to modern armour too.

We have started of the range with the following vehicles:

Early Tiger 1 with or without Zimmerit
Panther G with or without skirts
Crusader mk1 & mk2
Valentine mk3
Sherman Firefly
Sherman V
Sherman 75
Sherman 76

Coming soon in July 2012:
Panzer 4 ausf H
Panzer 3 ausf L
Panzer 3 aust N
Cromwell
Churchill mk4
Matillda II
Grant

We will of course keep you up to date with the models as they are being released, if you feel that there is a vehicle you would like in particular then drop us an email with the details and we will certainly have a look at it for you.

The way that the models have been created is also a little different in that the tracks and body are cast in one piece without loss of detailing, however unlike other vehicles Blitzkrieg Miniatures do not need a moulded resin base and the body filled with resin underneath making them look unrealistic. We have also missed out providing your multipart vehicles that come like a jigsaw puzzle in both resin and white metal. The majority of the tanks come in no more than 4 pieces (body, turret, gun barrel & machine gun) and can be used with 2 minutes of getting them out of the box, it really is that easy!! Using the latest 3d printing technology and traditional model making (straight line guys) & (green stuff) sculptors we are able to supply some of the finest resin gaming products on the market today.

Of course some gamers will prefer to stick with the current 1/56 range of vehicles and that's fine, we are not here to say what gamers should or should not use, however should you feel that other gaming vehicles don't quite look correct next to your models? Then we hope that we can provide you with a quality and affordable alternative.

Our products can be purchased direct from the website (www.blitzkriegminiatures.com) or through a dedicated independent online supplier at Arcane Scenery and Supplies – arcanesceneryandmodels.co.uk

We hope to be of service to you soon and thanks for reading.

Kind regards

Everyone at BlitzKrieg Miniatures

Will there be an effort to do early Eastern Front vehicles such as KV-1s, early T-34s, PZ IIIs, etc.? I agree that the 1/48th scale vehicles look much better with the current crop of 28mm figs, which is why our group hasn't converted to 1/56th yet. This is definitely good news.

There is a huge need for a quality 1/72 scale French S35 SOMUA. [please oh please]

Blitzkriegminiatures25 Jun 2012 10:19 a.m. PST

Hi Matt,

We will certainly be covering all areas of the war, as you can see we are well on the way with both the pz3's and also panzer 4's for you.

KV1'S and t34's and certainly on the go at the moment along with vehicles such as the 251/1's and 250 range of half tracks so you wont have to wait too long I am happy to say.

£10.00 GBP for a resin 1/72 Tiger I?

My concern there is that you can get a pre-painted Hobbymaster one for under that price. Those are built off the Trumpeter kits.

The Zveda kit comes in at around £8.00 GBP, while a Dragon kit is whopping £18.00 GBP for a Tiger I. However the rather nice Revell Tiger I is around £8.00 GBP

Given that the Britannia Miniatures Tiger I is £7.50 GBP, the RTR one with Zimmerit at only £5.95 GBP and the Milicast Tiger one at £13.95 GBP, your pricing for 20mm resins seems at odds to your main competition – RTR and Britannia.

Can you give any better shots showing the detail over and above the other options???

Reason I ask is I need some Tigers…

Hope to see more. Always good to see more manufacturers.

They look interesting – when is the PZ III N due?

Dave Jackson Supporting Member of TMP25 Jun 2012 11:05 a.m. PST

Guess I have a basic philosophical disagreement with going this way. Why woukd you go for the tanks in this scale….this scale is skirmish level and to me, the armoured cars, personnel carriers, etc are far more valuable……and rarer. Sigh. Honestly, seems a waste of money to me, especially in 1/72 with the profucion of pstic kits. But, then….it is your $$.

Rdfraf Supporting Member of TMP25 Jun 2012 12:15 p.m. PST

I'm very excited about the 1/48 scale armor. I started using1/48 scale for gaming 28mm WW2 when the first 28mm WW2 by Battleground and 1st Corp came out. At that time there was just Solido and oop Bandai kits. Now 1/56 seems to the thing but it would be great to add new vehicles to my 1/48 collection.

Disco Joe25 Jun 2012 12:23 p.m. PST

Not a fan of 1/48 scale armor but I wish you well with your endeavor. You mention something about Atlantic Wall. What do you have in mind? Any chance of doing a section with a German Destroyer turret in it? That I would be interested in.

15mm and 28mm Fanatik25 Jun 2012 1:22 p.m. PST

Yay, 1/48 is the new 1/56. Finally, we have a good range of choices in this scale intended for the gamer, not the modeler.

Mako1125 Jun 2012 1:41 p.m. PST

Excellent news.

Would love to see a JgPz IV with both short, and long barrels, and with zimmerit, in 1/48th scale.

I much prefer the 1/48th scale vehicles for 28mm gaming.

Mainly28s25 Jun 2012 2:09 p.m. PST

Good luck, but the wrong scale- 1-56th would have been better as far as I'm concerned.

Tommy2025 Jun 2012 6:16 p.m. PST

I'm with Dave Jackson. I prefer 1:48, but would be more interested in Daimlers, Dingos & Carriers.

BigNickR25 Jun 2012 7:14 p.m. PST

I like using 1/48 vehicles for my minis. I have a few 155 scale diecast helicopters and they all look too small. the 1/48 model kits seems spot on. Ditto 1/43 and 1/48 diecast cars.

Haven't gotten a 1/48 ground model kit, but i look forward to seeing this stuff (and hopefully some more modern stuff)

14th Brooklyn26 Jun 2012 1:32 a.m. PST

We have been using 1:48th scale vehicles for years as well.

As others have said… it would b great to see JgPz IV, Daimlers, Dungos and so on. While I think the models shown on the website look great, I have already stocked up on those from Tamiya, Hobby Boss and Bandai. So those that are not available from them (or so rare that you can not afford them) would be great!

For those who say one can not use AFV in Skirmish games, we do often enough, you just need a big table:

Great looking vehicles. The photo listed as "out of the box" shows no flash, very clean casting.

Blitzkriegminiatures26 Jun 2012 10:09 a.m. PST

Hi all,

I try to answer all the questions as best I can:

1. aegisg47 – We will certainly be producing all the tanks you mentioned very soon and indeed cover all theatres of operation of the eastern front.
2. Panzergeil – Model noted and we will certainly be covering all the common and more rare French tanks as we move forward for you, hope that's ok?
3. PiersBrand – I here what you are saying and can agree that we are or will never be the cheapest supplier of products on the market, however I would say that we are the best value for money and supply a great looking product for your hard earned cash. Also don't forget models like the Tiger just come in 2 parts…that's it, you done even need glue for those tanks!!If you need more pictures drop me an email and I will be more than happy to send you lots of eye candy, to add to this if anyone purchases a model and is not 100% happy we will certainly give you a full refund, cant say more than that really. I will take a look at the forum you mention, I will ask before posting as not to offend anyone thinking we are simply spamming.
4. Porkman – next week for both models, just in time for the start of the month. I will be posting updates on The Miniatures Page with the releases each week so get ready for your regular weekly updates.
5. Dave Jackson – I here what you are saying and agree the 1/72 is a much more used scale, however I am sure that as new rules are released and people start to warm to bigger models on the table skirmish might be a thing of the past? Besides I don't recall Warhammer 40k players having issues using lots of bigger tanks on a 6x4 table.
6. Rdfraf – Thank you for your kind words, we hope to change all that for you and other gamers from now on, I also hope that as the range grows you will indeed have a choice of vehicles, scenery and accessories to match other gaming scales.
7. Disco Joe – No problem on the 1/48, as I said its all about choice not preaching to gamers and telling them what's right or wrong, after all its your money. The Atlantic wall be be a 1/72 & 1/48 scale modular terrain that will allow gamers to build there own costal defences in these 2 scales. If you have seen ‘Private Ryan' you'll get the idea.
8. 28mm Fanatik – Great to have you on the team, you have hit the nail on the head sir, get ready for some great products
9. Mako11 – We have already started preparation on the self propelled guns and tank hunters, again some common some very rare.
10. Comte du Flandre mainlys 28s – no problem, as I said earlier so gamers like 1/56 scale and that's fine, its all about peoples preferences.
11. Flintloque – Items noted, we will be doing some other the vehicles you have mentioned very soon so keep your eyes peeled.
12. BigNickR – Thank you for the feedback, im sure once you have a 1/48 AFV you certainly will want more.
13. 14th Brooklyn – You are one of the reasons we started to produce 1/48 AFV's, a forgotten gamer!! Don't worry help is on the way and you'll need a much bigger table very soon I'm sure
14. Oddball – Thank you very much for your comments, what you see is what you get sir. That is why the trade & other clients use us to cast there models for them.

Cheers the Blitzkreig team

Troop of Shewe Fezian26 Jun 2012 1:33 p.m. PST

room for everybody [all scales] here, I believe there is a genuine market for gamers who dont want to build kits (Oh, the shame of it); good luck with your endeavour.

One question is this the "american" resin or "British" resin, not being flippant, but in general both continents offerings/casters have significantly different properties…….

Oberst Radl26 Jun 2012 7:00 p.m. PST

1/72 Japanese armor and softskins would be appreciated (and bought). Sure, there are kits. But nobody makes wargaming versions them except Skytrex that I can find.

PiersBrand27 Jun 2012 2:02 a.m. PST

Blitzkriegminiatures,

Feel free to post on The Guild news section… Im Admin there so its grand.

Its a forum very directed at 20mm WW2 gamers in particular so you will get plenty of feedback if nothing else!

Always happy to help promote a 'new' company to our membership.

Blitzkriegminiatures02 Jul 2012 2:12 a.m. PST

Hi Chaps,

See if i can answer you questions:

1. troop of shrewe – I hear what you are saying and we have tried to make those variants as best we can for gamers. Please get in contact as we may have some business for you?

2. Oberst Radl – We'll have a look at the Japanese armour for you, do you have a list of vehicles that you would like to see?

Kind regards

The team at BlitzKriegMiniatures

Caesar15 Jul 2012 11:35 a.m. PST

Well if you are going to do Japanese in 1/72 then you need to so it in 1/48 as well, just to be fair. :-)

Battlescale15 Jul 2012 2:32 p.m. PST

On the question of cost, I'd certainly pay a little more for a piece that I don't have to spend a couple of hours building! Good luck to all at Blitzkrieg Miniatures.

Blitzkriegminiatures16 Jul 2012 1:41 a.m. PST

Hi Chaps,

Caesar: we will do Japanese for both scales

StanleySteve: Thats the idea, check out the reviews to see what people think of the tanks.

kind regards
