Ambush Valley, the Force on Force supplement for Vietnam that is now in its second edition, recommends four sources for miniatures in 20mm: Elhiem Figures Britannia Miniatures Platoon 20 SHQ Miniatures If you were to start from scratch today and put together a 20mm force for Ambush Valley, which manufacturer would you prefer? |

Elhiem and Britannia
But you can tell that from the book. Also since I wrote that book, Wartime Miniatures are doing Vietnam stuff now, Under Fire Miniatures do some too and Liberation also have some useful packs too. Good thing is they all mix pretty well too.
I'd love to see the old Qualiticast range return though

No RAFM or Italeri? SHQ is smaller than the rest, Britainnia is chunkier |

I have a line at SGMM as well. No good pictures yet, painted models should be here before Historicon though
sgmm.biz/20mmmodern.html I also like the old FAA line, but you cant find them anymore. I have a few hundred in my collection

The RAFM range is the Platoon 20 range. I believe they were produced under licence? Skytrex also do some 20mm Vietnam stuff. |

I'm just starting a FoF NVA Army
and I can't say what the miniatures are. Old leftovers from a friend's stockpile which I picked when he got rid of them. |

Esci/Revell/Italeri are all the same plastics and rather nice. My 80s African militia are all Vietnam US painted with raggedier uniforms. |
