Ok
in this link you can see the game we played on Sat June 16th :)
it was the full battle of Quatre Bras ( with Napoleon at War ). The game started at 10AM and ended around 5:30 PM ( 45' break for lunch )
It was a fun game.. I think everyone had a good time link
We played on an 8x5' table with two 6x2' satellite tables for arrivals and reserves
The game could end up in strategic victory for either side, tactical victory for either side or draw. It ended with a French tactical victory and it was hard fought all till the end when night arrived :) ( in game turns ) cheers Francisco |

Great looking game and figures. Only a real man can wear this shirt.

It was a lot of fun. Francisco did a great job creating the scenario and it played out well. A real nail biter to the end. |

IIRC this was set-up to near historical OBs- how did it pan out in respect to points system? |

It was done using the historical OOB. I used a couple of different sources and used Mark Adkin's Waterloo companion as a check for unit strength. The arrival times for the different allied forces was determined using a porbability distribution based around the actual arrival times but it gave some randomness that could result in slightly earlier or later arrivals. ( d'Erlon's corps was not involved at all). The French reserve cav could be used or not depending on the French commander decisions and that affected the victory conditions. Overall the full armies were I believe comparable in points, but of course the "points" on the table were very different at times since the French start with great superiority and the tide starts turning as the Allies keep arriving. But no changes were made to the OOB to align points. Of course while the OOB were historical there is always a bit of scenario designer judgement when it comes to troop quality and such. I think the game was pretty even and it could have gone either way

Excellent game, well organized, some great terrain and of course beautifully painted + based figures. Overall it played out right, now if Picton (5th British Division) could roll other than "1's" it may have turned out differently. We are planning Wavre next June, followed by Ligny in 2014 and of course Waterloo in 2015. PS: I still blame the Dutch!!!!! |

Looks like a great game, although I could not wind my way to the actual battle photos from the series of links. The reason I love Quatre Bras so much is because of all the uncertainty and what if's. The only way to duplicate that, to my way of thinking, is to play the entire campaign via maps, Prussians, etc, and then resolve Quatre Bras according to how that works out. Beautiful figures and terrain, though. I LOVE this battle. |

We are running Quatre bras at the end of the month using BP. Really interested in your scenario. Looks fantastic. Can you post OOB because the link is broken here? Also the high command rules you refer to. Thanks, Mike |
