Wooden Wars
Feeling a bit old school, I created some "iconic Napoleonic" wooden soldiers, mostly for my kids. The idea and game has started to take off, so I began documenting the process of model and rules creation on my blog. I want to share it with my fellow TMP'rs out there in hopes for some feedback on what you think. skullandcrown.blogspot.com Cheers! |

I love them. And did you paint each or could you print cut outs and glue on wooden backer. |

Fantastic. Will they be available for purchase? |

I have played this with the author with my 5 year old son. He loved it and still talks about it! |

I've often thought of napoleonic artillery fire as bowling. I can see I wasn't the only one. Wish I could've played such games as a five year old. |

14Bore- they are all hand painted. For unpainted versions look on my blog. 79th PA- I didn't get a Pat.Pend for nothing :) Hopefully soon. Still working out logistics. Rrobbyrobot- I am sure there is still a 5 year old in there somewhere! Usually what happens is after the kids go a game, the adults jump in. BTW, the infantry and cav fire too- just one ball per unit/battalion vs. Arty which get one per gun! Cheers |

Those are great, I thought the cannons were going to be loaded with an elastic and thats how you shot the small balls. Everything looks amazing and I'm sure if you massed produced these pieces, there would be plenty of us on the floor playing like kids again. |

Wow very impressed. After seeing that I have no desire to bring my miniatures against yours :p |

CavCrazy- you just toss the rubber balls- less moving bits! I'll be running several games at Gencon this year, so come play! Ashenduke- the laser etched lines makes painting very easy, you just fill in the spaces. My kids do a fun job with felt pens. Cheers Thomas |

I've seen & played with these in person & not only are the soldiers works of art (even when unpainted), but they're also a snap to put together, & the game & rules is great fun. I think there may even be a sudden surge in hardwood & tiled floor. |

Best picture on the blog
the kid kneeling on the floor, playing with Dad's toys. Priceless |

I'm actually excited about this project. I'd give my daughter some markers and let her "paint" her own uniforms on her soldiers. |

The models are great and the game is incredibly fun to play. |

Those look great. I would certainly be intersted if and when they are available. I bought some of the old Windcatcher Graphic wooden soldiers many years ago, but then he disappeared. |

I have the good fortune to have some of the prototypes in my possession. The level of detail and aesthetic quality is really outstanding, and they are super user-friendly in terms of assembly. I am definitely looking forward to this product being released! In regards to the game
keep in mind that it comes from the same mind that brought us Pirates! and other epically fun and group-friendly wargaming rules. :) Cheers! - Rod |

If wood could blush! Thank you all for your kind comments. pbishop12- I love how you think those are MY toys :) Jefritrout- It was the wind catacher figs that I origionally searched out as well and could not find- so decided to make my own. Those were cool. Rodney- Statute of Limitations
Remember !!:) Cheers Thomas Foss |

Brilliant ! And I love how you did the horses. |

The rules are simple and understandable. Getting the ball to land and bounce where you wish it to is a challenge – my 4th-grader was the crack shot of the game, not I. It is fun. It would be good promotion for miniatures and wargaming among kids, right down to the post-toddlers. |
