Can someone link me to a site which has information about the uniform colours of the French army's regiments (both native and foreign) which served during the NYW? The Osprey's book on the subject of Louis XIV's army (which I have had for over 15 years) is a bit outdated, and rather vague. Has there been new, specific information to arise since then?

Thanks to all in advance,

ilodic.

Ilodic;

The "best" information is going to come from the Robert Hall CD's and from the old Wargames Illustrated articles by Mark Allen. I'm not sure if they are still available, but Duncan was selling the WI issues in compendium CD's, and there was a post on Barry Hilton's League of Augsberg Forum with a list of all of the relevant articles and what issues they were in.

Also, you will glean a lot of useful information from Barry's Forum and from the excellent Gallery, which contains shots of many of Barry's own armies, as well as some from other painters.

You will also find some information of value on the blog that I co-author with several other folks, "The Wars of Louis Quatorze". We have articles and links to several re-enactment groups, articles from both current and vintage sources, and many figure and book reviews.
