Rafa,

These figures look great. Very well painted also. They look very similar to the AB line. How do they compare in size to AB? Are they true 15mm or closer th 18mm.

Thanks, Bill

Hi everyone, I'm Xan, sculptor and owner of Xan Miniatures.

To answer you questions, I must say that my figures are perfectly compatible with AB.
Anthony has always been a master to me, and Nic from Eureka is a great professional; I hope that with coupling AB figures and mine you will come to build up some armies that will make the joy of any a,mateur.
For a look:

Very nice looking figures.

However, I noticed that your figures are mixed in the same pack, some in covered shako, and some with cords and tassels. Would it not be better following the lead of most other companies and keeping the 2 types of headgear in seperate codes/packs. This allows those that want a full dress batallion to purchase what they want without having to buy the covered ones at the same time.

Good idea, Redcurrant, I think.

I just ordered a battalion + skirmishers (hopefully all in campaign order) – I'll do a size comparision with the other main makes when they arrive and post it on my blog.

Xan,

I know I would love to see some of the minor nations with poses other than marching. It could be a nice niche for you for all the AB fans out there.

Xan minis21 Jun 2012 12:17 p.m. PST

Fans usually prefer shoulder arms figures. .
I I have ideas, such as camps, and many others.
In principle, my work will be on the Peninsular war, including all the allies of France.

These are superb Rafa,
The painting and the figures both.

Can I ask Rafa, what colours you use for your blues?

Thanks
Paul

VonBlucher22 Jun 2012 4:12 p.m. PST

Paul,
I was thinking the same thing on what color Rafa, used for the blue.

Rafa,
Excellent job on these though.

Hi Rafa,

It is hard to believe this is 15mm. I first compliant the pictures are too small while squinting my eyes. Then I realise it is not 28mm.

WOW, these tiny figures fooled me. You paint them like you paint 28mm.

Most excellent sir!

Hi Rafa,
I just posted a quick review of these figures after buying some based on your photo. I hope you don't mind that I "borrowed" one of your pictures (I gave you full credit and linked to your website) to display the figures to full advantage – if you want me to remove it just let me know.

I also did a size comparison with other common makes of figures. The Xan Miniatures will certainly blend well with AB.

Beautiful figures and great painting.
Would love to see more 15mm figures of the Peninsular or 1809 period.
Maybe the 36figs General de Brigade battalion (6 grenadiers/6 voltigeurs/24fusiliers and command) could be added?

archiduque24 Jun 2012 7:13 a.m. PST

Many many thanks again!!!!

Malc,of course you can put photos of the figures in your blog,is a pleasure for me.

Duc de Limbourg, the next thing I'm going to paint for Xan(of course if he wants ;-))will be the French light infantry.

I'd buy some, but the online shop is a mess. What exactly is in a 'March line battalion A'?

Xan minis24 Jun 2012 11:16 a.m. PST

Hi all:

The line bataillon A is with granadiers in shako.
The line bataillon B is with granadiers in bearskin.
Littlearmies, more. more more, Thanks.

Xan,
I was going to email you with some suggestions for your site etc but I used my work email before and my home email service will be switching in the next 24 hours to a new provider – so I'm in a mess here.

Thanks Xan, but I don't see any reference to how many miniatures are in a battalion?
Can you assist please?
Cheers

Littlearmies24 Jun 2012 4:32 p.m. PST

TrailApe – the battalions that cost €12.88 EUR have 36 figures and you can ask for all in shako cover, a mix, or uncovered if you prefer. The packs that are €3.05 EUR have eight figures for the rank and file. I'm not too sure about the other packs!

I get the impression Xan is taking on board suggestions and changing things on the website as they occur to him – so this is something of a work in progress at the moment.
