Hi Guys

we are looking at running two games based on the mass effect universe and are looking for miniatures suitable.

so far we have picked up a number of mercs/infinity and antenociti minis for a rpg like skirmish using half a dozen models either side.

we are also looking at using tommorows war with a platoon a side and are struggling to find minis to fit with earth and cerberus style hardsuit armour that are priced better than £6.00 GBP+ per mini, any ideas? I have looked at Pig iron system troopers as a possible and GZG just wondering if their is anything else out their

How about plastic GW Tau with the Feet convered.

I'm unfamiliar with Mass Effect.

However, Denizen offers two styles of 25mm troopers in body armor, for very reasonable prices. They are still some of the nicest looking Sci-Fi figs, despite their age.

I'd look to try and do some kitbashing with tau and other bits and bobs, their heads are very 'mass effect'.

Ah, just had a thought, these minis are reasonably priced (better than £6.00 GBP) and I would imagine they'd eventually be available separately to the game. Look dead on for mass effect to me!

Governance of Technology or GOT figures by Antenocitis Workshop? – Would they fit the bill?

Lion in the Stars14 Jun 2012 12:41 p.m. PST

They do, but they're pricey.

The only minis I can think of that have the 'Mass Effect look' are GW's Van Saar, Antenociti's GOT figures, and the Vanguard troops from Studio McVey.

None of them are particularly cheap. What vehicles are there in Mass Effect? I thought it was all foot troops with a re-entry capable starship for mobility.

Here are some of the Denizen figs, which are superb:

hey guys

thanks for all the replies. Think ill be going with GOT for aliance, also found a Mako style apc at antenocitis. May use sedition wars for cerberus troops but also looking at the Antenociti NRF troops ( not quite perfect but could fit with the right colours). just got to check the bank balance before i do anything

No Blue Moon Mercs? I always thought they looked cool.

Oh, forgot to warn you that GZG figures are 25mm, which is much smaller than the current 28+mm. Like the difference between a 4'10" little old lady and a 6'8" NFL football player.

Ive been able to kit bash lots of figures for generic games Mass Effect style. ive used a background of a cross between Star Wars and ME2. I use the SOBH for rules.
Some ideas ive used :
1. some of the cheap armoured Gorillas from AT43 , removed the Gorilla heads and replaced with GW Orc or Ogre heads and they look ok. Remove back packs and some weapons
2. old RT era IG and Psykers look great as human civilians loitering around
3. Tau , replace the heads or leave them look good as armoured Mercs or civvies , replace the heads with lizardman ,Zombie or Beastman heads
3. cheap plastic GW Orcs can be painted up to look very generic as civvies
4. several cheap plastic prepainted Star Wars figures once cleaned up look great

If you go "outside the box " in regards to figures there are plenty out there , ive managed to amass at least 100 or so civvies/Mercs ,bystanders and bounty hunters just by switching out heads and bodies , they dont all resemble anything ive seen in the ME2 game but they still fit in.

Garben, I have created some creatures which are based on some from ME3. They are here: link

They are very simmilar to the "cannibals" in Mass Effect 3.

I second Blue Moon Mercenaries. Maybe not exactly what you're looking for, but check them out at Old Glory 25s.

Some of the Environmental Battle Armor Cyclos from Kryomek might be of use.
