So as best I can tell if I use the Perry Cuirassiers with the Carabineer Head I can make/paint up Saxon Cuirassiers. Is there any noticable differences that I am missing?

Well, depends of what you want to create, for example at Borodino not all regiments wore the cuirass

Razor7811 Jun 2012 5:06 a.m. PST

Yes I'm wanting to do the regiment that wore the cuirass

only the front breastplate?? was worn and think there are more differences as well the helmet.. saddle cloth? if you were serious wouldn't you use the Eureka Zastrow and /or Garde du corp?

Very noticeable is the difference in epaulettes

Razor7811 Jun 2012 5:19 a.m. PST

Yeah I just discoverd they only used the front plate, OK scratch that idea. I have an extra Curiassier unit and was trying to find a good conversion unit….guess I'll keep looking or try to trade it for something else

Thanks!!

I seem to recall that the Polish Cuirassiers were very similar in kit to the French.

Try the Connoisseur Miniatures Saxon Garde du Corps and von Zastrow Cuirassier figures. They are gorgeous sculpts.

I would recommend the Eureka miniatures.
