I am intending to get some French and British to do Sharpe Practice in the Peninsula.

Is there much differenece between Victrix and Perry for size of figures, animation of poses and ease of construction: I am not into "fiddly"! Would the two ranges sit comfortably side by side or is it one or the other?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Victrix and Perry work fine together, although I prefer not to mix manufacturers in the same unit.

Victrix figures have more components than Perry.

If you want to avoid 'fiddly' then go for Perry, though both are nice figures (I bought Victrix!)

I'd go with Perry since victrix come with a lot of parts that might need a bit of concentration to put together

Perry are indeed less fiddly. However, you say you plan to play games set in the Peninsula.

If you are picky, they Perrys are in the wrong uniform for the Peninsula and you should use the Victrix.

If the 1815 uniforms are acceptable to you, then Perry.

The two plastics are very close in size/proportion – some of the Victrix appear to be a little larger overall – but hardly perceptible. You can even swap most of the parts between the two link Dean

Excellent advice from everyone. TMP'er Littlearmies posted a link to this blog

and while its for Waterloo, he goes into great detail on his mixing and matching of Perry and Victrix.
I'm also planning to start out with Sharp Practice and mix and match Perry and Victrix for Waterloo period.

Many thanks for the helpful replies.

I was under the impression that the Perry British boxes had a choice of heads for stove-pipe or belgic shako: is this correct?

I am also tempted by the rather nice metal range by Alban Miniatures: how do these compare in size with the plastics?

You are right about the Perry British having the option. The French do not.

The Alban Miniatures figures are very nice but are sculpted with more realistic proportions. I think they more closely match the 28mm plastics made by HaT. I currently own Perry, Victrix, HaT, and Alban. I would gladly mix Perry with Victrix and HaT with Alban but not Perry/Victrix with HaT/Alban.

I'd say that you can mix Victrix, Perry, Foundry, Elite, Front Rank, Foundry, Eagle, Offensive, and Renegade.

Not Alban. They look completely different to all the above -very thin and wiry by comparison, and don't mix at all in my opinion.

Here are a couple of comparison photos:

Many thanks: I think it will be a mix of Perry and Victrix plastics with some Perry metals.

That's what I always do.

Can't go wrong with perry/victrix mix.
