Whats out there in 15mm? Also Daleks and other bad guys? The Tardis? |
AVAMANGO | 08 Jun 2012 7:52 p.m. PST |
I've seen some pre painted 15mm TARDIS in one of the E-Bay stores just don't ask me which one, I think Cybermen would be easy enough to convert over with all those Terminator style robots some companies are now producing and i dont think that the Daleks would be to complecated to scratch build either

I was thinking of using these as Sontarans as they are quite small
link Apart from that I'd have a look on Khurasans page. They have loads of scientists and civilians that could be used for conversions for companions ets
If you find any Doctor figures I'd love to see them. Colin |

I thought that the Sons of Thunder from Rebel miniatures would mske good Sontarans as they are short all you would need to do is cover over their helmet visor line with putty also their modern civiliens would be very useful as some Dr's assistant figures, as for wanabee Dr figures Blue moons 15HOR-115 London Townsfolk {horror range) have a couple of very good candidates.
But for me the perfect Doctor reprecentation would be either the miniature from Blue moon's 15HOR-110 Dr. Frankenstein set or from the 15HOR-111 Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde set

I use 15mm.co.uk Imperial troopers, as sontarans, (remove the jump pack) Cybermen I cast from a mobile phone signal device from forbidden planet, Daleks are cast from a carved balsa model, silurans are from blue moon (I know the weapons are wrong) The doctor and companions are altered from various cowboy/sci-fi models, Ogron are from GZG mercenaries, Robomen and other monsters from khurasan/rebel/et.al. The Tardis is from carved balsa. |

Oh, yeah, the Khurasan Planet 15 monsters are ready-made for Doctor Who'ing it up. |

My doctor is a 15mm cowboy ina long coat. I made a long scarf from tissue and painted it with white glue. I used WWII brits painted in a grey uniform for UNIT. |

Re: the Khurasan scientists set – the chap on the right in the picture above may not look it, but I reckon the right paint job would give you a Tenth Doctor. See also:

Actually, thinking about it, let's have another look at that Khurasan civilians set: Top row, far right: Donna Noble? Possibly Amy Pond? Third row, far right: Captain Jack, sans overcoat? Bottom row, far right: River Song? Possibly Rose Tyler? Might have to bag some of those
As far as bad guys go, Khurasan's Dethroids are miles away from Daleks visually, but the fluff is similar. GZG's light spacesuit figures are quite close to Cybermen as well, I reckon, as well as being useful for generic future-human extras. @Eclipsing Binaries: Have you looked at the regular Kra'Vak infantry for Sontarans? Also pretty stumpy, and the armour/weapons are fairly close to new Who Sontarans. I've been threatening to paint a few up in a suitable colour scheme for a while now. |

For Jamie McCrimmon, any Highland Scot with kilt and basket hinted claymore should do. Top row, far right of the survivors / not Walking Dead might do for Sarah Jane Smith, too. |

Can you get those Blue Moon 15mm in the UK? |

I used a Peter Pig cowboy in a long coat to do the 4th Doctor in 15mm – with a tissue paper scarf. For the 1970s UNIT I used Peter Pig AK47 troops in beret – they have rolled up sleeves and carry AK47s, but who cares – maybe it's Summer and the BBC props budget only extends to cheap, easily available firearms ;) The Doctor's assistant is a Peter Pig resistance fighter (with the gun removed), whilst the Brigadier is also from Peter Pig – the WWII Russian NKVD officer. I forget what figure I used for The Master. The Doctor and the Master's Tardises are both scratchbuilt, the former from card and the latter from an old pen-top. The Daleks? A friend designed and cast them for me. Pictures: link And a later one showing the Dalek flying saucer and flying discs: link |
