My latest Hotz Mats order arrived, a set of 6mm weathered roadways and 2 sets of 15mm fields.

A short review on the quality, costs and order speed can be found here > link

I wonder if the quick order time was due to you only getting road pieces…

P.S. Tell me someone has done a tank racing game!

Gunbird you got me to order two 45x72 enhanced Euro mats, I resisted the roads, but may go back and get them,I"m using paper one at the moment-meh.

I like the repaired tarmac effect on the road surface i might try to recreate that on a few sections of my Tomy road sets.

What bugs me is the fact that they don't have a set of roads in size with 12-15mm.

I play both 10mm (with mechwarrior rebased cliks), 12mm (with 1/144 tanks, WWII and Modern), and 15mm (SF); if they had a set of roads in scale with 12-15mm I could use them for all my gaming needs.

I bought a set of Hotz fields for 15mm play to use as sections of "soft ground" or just for pure decoration. They look good!

I so want 15mm Hotz roads. I have several mats, rivers, and am thinking of buying the fields, but I really need 15mm roads.

Let's write to the Hotz dude asking him to release them!

I'd buy them for 15mm as well. Already have the 6mm and 25mm sets which are great.

And yes, it does take a while to get an order if you have a mix of product, especially the European Field mats. But when they arrive, they are awesome.

Just got two (2) mats from Eric:

1 was an ocean blue 4x8 with 1" hexes to use with "Iron Men and Wooden Ship" rules and 1/2400 Napoleonic ships.

2 was one of his enhanced space 4x8 mats with 2" hexes for use with "FTL Lite" rules.

Also got a number of his new field mats. Very nice.

Total order time, was about 2 months start to finish. Have ordered from Hotz before and never disappointed. Highly recommend and I'll be placing another order soon.

do the fields have tufts on them or painted?

We have a road product in development. It will be 15mm and probably 28mm.

Thanks for the review. I was just pondering my 6mm roads and $45 USD seems a reasonable trade vs. the amount of time to make some nicely lined & weathered roads.
