Madaxeman started this off with his 1/300th Hinds for CWC
,
I gave Kris a call at Hurlbat (www.hurlbat.co.uk) and after a quick email exchange asked him for a custom five bladed rotor for a 1/600th Hind (I had wanted enough for all my helos but as this was new project it had a bit of risk so limited it to enough of these and tail rotors (not yet photo'd) for 5 machines

and

Impressed with:
A. The company responsiveness
B. Cost,
C. Flexibility. These were custom 29mm diameter with small hole and they are willing to do more! So new rotor disks for my HH-53C and the rest of my 1/600th helos inbound

Most excellent! The one thing stopping me from ordering Tumbling dice Helos was the lack of rotors. This solves it in a beautiful manner!

Nice! I just finished painting up a bunch of Oddzial Osmy helos, and looking for a rotor disc solution.

I asked Chris if he can do the following in 1/600th (with or without etching)
36mm diameter main rotor (six bladed rotor for HH-53C)
29mm diameter main rotors(five bladed rotor for Hip and Hind)
21mm diameter main rotors (four bladed for Lynx)
17mm diameter main rotor (three bladed for Gazelle)
17mm diameter main rotor (four bladed for Bo-105)
6.5mm diameter tail rotors (no etching)

Looks good to me.

27mm diameter, 4 blade – UH-60 Blackhawk
24mm diameter, 3 blade – Mi-2 Hoplite
24mm diameter, 4 blade – AH-64 Apache
18mm diameter, 2 blade – OH-58 Kiowa
18mm diameter, 4 blade – OH-58D Kiowa Warrior

Can he do 1/300 as well?

CAG 1910 Jun 2012 3:15 a.m. PST

He started off doing them in 1/300th. He has been very flexible and he has just sent me the drafts of the wish list above. I image that he will be equally approachable to other requests.

Give him a line hurlbat.co.uk and then choose contacts

Resurrecting an old thread…..

So Hurlbat is out of business. The company that took them over, Lazerdesigns, is also out of business. Anyone know of a source selling similar rotor discs to those produced by Hurlbat? The peel and stick film ones from Pico Armor just don't cut it.
