Just about to place an order for an unpainted resin model of the famous farmyard in 15mm. Couple of questions:-

Assume colours are limewashed (and brick) walls and pantile roof – recommended paint colours (not Vallejo please – humbrol acrylics, coat d'arms or GW)

What is/was the floor of the courtyard, bare earth or cobbles or something else?

Thanks in anticipation

Lime wash walls, go with skull white then a devlin mud wash.
For the roof, a dark brown and then a devlin mud wash again.

Courtyard was bare earth.

On a related note, does anyone know what happened to the Opus Waterloo building range?

Go with the Hovels version.

The JR Miniatures version is decent but the roof is thatched and not accurate.

Those are the only two I have seen first-hand.

Nice model, looks very like the Airfix kit I used to have many moons ago.

A question, should the farmhouse roof have dormers?

I have seen photos and engravings that say it does but also images that do not show them?

Its a nice looking model.
But the Spanish tile roof and block walls makes it look Meditteranean, not Belgian.

My understanding is that the roof had slate tiles and there were dormers back in the day.

Here is my 1/72 scale Airfix La Haie Sainte

Although plastic, I believe it more accurate then the Battlezone one, although I would like the Hovels one for sure.
