Hi All,

We're new to FOW, but have just put up a load of pictures and our thoughts on this new starter set on our web page:

gravengames.co.uk/flames-of-war-achtung-review

Looks like its going to be a great game to play and you'll be able to follow our progress into the hobby as we add more FOW articles and play more games.

Good review! I also see you had the same gap problems with the Shermans.

Make sure you check out the recent Battlefront boot camp videos on youtube.

Nice first look. But a 296 page rulebook? How much of that is rules?

Privateer4hire03 Jun 2012 9:28 a.m. PST

Most of it. The mini rulebook covers the full rules provided in the larger hard back book.

is it just me or does the muzzel breaks look weird on those stug's?
great review!

Nice review, thanks. I just bought this set today and I agree the new plastic models are well done. Thanks for the tip about clamping the Shermans together.

John, I agree ref muzzle breaks, but I think it might be that the guys have somehow omitted to trim the end of the mb, done it meself! Anyway, thats my take on it.
Good review GG.

No John its not just you – blew the picture up to 200% on the one of them on the sprue – both the 75mm anfd 105mm barrels appear to have a very strange muzzlebreak – wonder if it is a miscast?
Hmm on the BF website the pic of the sprues looks the same but on the pictures of ther finished model the muzle breaks look normal – wonder if they used blister models for thephoto and no one has noticed the 'new' look muzzle breaks?

NigelM13 Jun 2012 3:33 a.m. PST

The reviewer seems to have left the end of the muzzle brake off!

Interesting wonder why they cast a separate end of the muzzle break?

It's nice that the tanks are meant to be used with magnets, and that the magnets actually come with the models.

Are the 50mm MG and tank leader for the Shermans to correct scale? They seem oversize?

But I like the price.

The Ma Duce is a BHM – Big Honking MG IIRC
