Looks like an ancients battle
until Jar Jar shows up. :D |

Damn, I got all excited thinking it would be PROPER Star Wars
. :-( |

(As an aside, I do like the way they've put the 24 cavalry on movement trays for ease of handling, but not bothered for the 300 Gungan (spit) infantry or the 540 battle droids
.) |

To be honest it looks a little boring, no terrain at all, what tactics would they use? I guess the best die roll wins. Unless its just a display sort of thing. |

I can't see why they are using a gridded cloth? |
jpattern2 | 02 Jun 2012 8:07 a.m. PST |
Good, more Gungans to die. |
Mooseworks8 | 02 Jun 2012 8:37 a.m. PST |
Cool. I didn't know they had such large creatures for the SW minis line. |
Doms Decals | 02 Jun 2012 8:51 a.m. PST |
I think the Fambaa's from the regular action figure line, but it does rather grab the attention as a centrepiece though :-) |

What Gunner Dunbar said. They're just going to do what— move forward and hit each other? Granted, that's certainly the George Lucas approach to battle tactics. But if I saw this game set up, I wouldn't join in; I prefer the opportunity to maneuver, as well as the challenge of dealing with terrain. As set up, this looks like nothing but an exercise in dice rolling. So, "Pass," from me. |

To be fair that is very much the look of the battle in the film – huge solid phalanxes on an open plain. I'd agree it's more of a visual spectacle than a tactical challenge though
. ;-) As for the gridded cloth, the Star Wars miniature rules are played on squares, so it may be they were using the rules as well as the figures, or possibly just a carryover from them. |

I don't know how WOTC's rules handle ranged fire, but the sides seem to be lined up well within weapon ranges. |

that big fambaa was from the action figure line, and it was an FAO Schwarz exclusive. Ran about $75. USD |

Any game that lets you kill Jar Jar Binks has some merit. |
