I would classify Disco-haters with Warhammer haters, Flame of War haters, DBX haters, etc.
They (we) aren't really as cool as they (we) think they (we) are.
There is a more of a need to demonize things that are similar to what you like than there is to destroy things that are totally different.
Disco haters do not have the veins popping out of their necks in rage when they listen to opera or Mongolian throat singing.
If it is 5% different, the rage and hatred is far more intense.
HERESY! Think about it. You are driving down the road and "Dancing Queen" comes on, and … you … find … yourself … singing along with it. If you are alone in the car. But, if your friend is in the car, you punch the button to change it with a curse and a fearsome oath. |
