AKA Nine Years War, and/or on the Sun King's wars in general?

Recommended other reading on the period?

The Wars of Louis XIV by John Lynn is available on Amazon. It is an excellent read.

I'd recommend a couple: (1) John Childs' "The Williamite Wars in Ireland" and (2) Padraig Lenihan's "1690 Battle of the Boyne." Both Ireland oriented, obviously, but great works on the military side of the period.

Another Irish recommendation Patrick Sarsfield and the Williamite War. Its very well written and researched full of good information at every level. If you want a good grasp of the Williamite War in Ireland and details of the fighting its hard to do better.

McNally's Aughrim is also seriously worth a look.

While not a history per se,CS Grant's "Pike to Shot" gives loads of wargame info.It covers from Sedgemoor through WAS.
