I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Victoria's Battles rules set? I remember playing a game at one of teh HMGS cons several years ago, and I bought a copy of Book 1 (Egypt and the Sudan) from the author. There was supposed to be new books released (including scenario books).

I was wondering if the additional rules were ever published? I couldn't find any reference to it in the rules directory, and a search of the messages boards didn't turn anything up.

It was certainly a fun con game, and I'd like to play it again, if given the chance.

Thanks,

Joe

I know which rules you are referring to. Contact Cotton Jim's Flags. He was the guy selling the rules at the cons. I cannot remember the author's name at the moment.

Is it one of Ben King's sets?

John,

No, the author on the copy I have is listed as Frank Capotorto. I will check with Cotton Jim, and see if I can dig anything up.

Thanks,

Joe

Okay, so more checking and e-mailing, and a friend out here told me that there is a Zulu War set of these rules as well, and that there were plans for NWF and FFL specific rules as well.

He mentioned that they have a copy of the Zulu War book at Brookhurst, so this weekend I drive down there and take a look at them.

In the meantime, if there is any other feedback on these rules, I'd love to hear it.

TIA,

- Joe

My wargames group's favorite set of Victorian era rules. I recently built an Arabi revolt (Egyptians 1882) army to fight my British using the Sudan rules set of Victoria's Battles, and the game was one of the best we have played. This is a truly underrated set of rules.
