Hello,
Am looking at getting started in Nap Naval wargaming. I picked up a copy of trafalgar rules at a bring and buy for 10 dollars. I am after best scale for price, and I am not a fame of trying my hand at rigging.

Thanks

I like the Valiant Enterprises 1/2000th scale.

Reasonably priced, can rig, or not, as desired, and they look good either way.

Buy them in the bulk packs, since they are much cheaper that way, without the special packaging.

1:1200 Langton for the sheer Beauty of them and the huge selection of Ships and things

Langton and GHQ, in that order.

Here's an unrigged Figurehead 1/2400, which is fairly easy to make.

The mizzen mast is cast to the hull, but the 2 forward masts need to be trimmed and glued in. It could be used like this with no rigging, but it wouldn't be that hard to add a few token strands of standing rigging for strength. You could add that with "Beadalon" black beading wire, such as this fairly stiff black-nylon-coated .010" type:

I have 2400 Figureheads and play with a gridded/hexgridded set for fast play with Langtons Fast play rules

and a mix of Langton/Navwar 1200's as well

a few new sets popping up Sailpower has an ingenious point-of-sail/speed mechanism…

Sails of glory I think will really inject some adrenaline into Sail gaming. I think people will walk away from Trafalgar to play it. (and it'll bring newbs in too)

Thanks for the advice I will have a look and see what best works for me.

I recomend Langtons also

I use these with Trafalgar rules also

even with just some rigging they look good

Thanks
