2 multiple times in Knoxville Tn Tried to see it while visiting a guy in NYC, but the line was around the block. It also turned out no one had thought to bring cash. I had some Traveler's Checks with me (remember those) so I ducked into a nearby grocery store to see if I could cash one and was somewhat freaked to hear the only two people in there speaking German. The elderly clerk was highly doubtful about cashing my Traveler's Check and said I had to buy something. I grabbed a small box of Oreos and got my check cashed to pay for them. Then back to the line where we stood for 30 minutes until a guy came out and said the theater was sold out for the remaining shows that night. I least I had something to snack on. |

I saw it on the first Sunday it was out. My family subscribed to 'Time' magazine at the time. On the front of 'Time' that week was a picture of an X-Wing fighter chasing a T.I.E. fighter. It said 'Movie of The Year'. My family would go to church every Sunday, then out to a restaurant for lunch, followed by a family 'togetherness' event. My mom was a huge sci-fi fan. As a result, we saw the 3pm show that Sunday. I am still in awe of that movie. |

2. Saw it at the Odeon in Bournemouth (Westover Road). My mates and I were stunned by it and went back 6 times if I remember correctly. |

2. I was 12 when it came out. I remember a friend who was a big Sci-Fi fan talking about it. He showed me magazines and stories about it. I thought it sounded stupid. Finally we went and saw it. Then saw it again the same day. Then watched it ten more times before it left. I really don't like the stuff that George Lucas did to change the original, but I love the Star Wars series. |

2. I saw it in London at Odeon Leicester Square a week or so after it opened in the UK. Only went to see it because it was a Peter Cushing film. No one will be celebrating 'The Phantom Menace' in 2034. |

Didn't see it first day. Town we were in at the time didn't get movies until they'd been out awhile. I think it was Aug before I saw it. 1977. Long, long ago, and far, far away from here. |
