Ordered from a range (I believe Quality Castings?) from warweb. Received my stuff pretty quickly. A T72 and 2 BMP2 (a little concerned about those gunbarrels bending though), and what I thought was 3 packs of an infantry squad each. Turns out that was actually 3 packs of an infantry platoon each, so I have quite a few extra frontoviks to invade Berlin with or defend the motherland from alien incursion! Happy surprise though!

Oh? COOL! What scale? and can you link it? |
| Weasel | 24 May 2012 1:36 p.m. PST |
15mm, though slightly on the small side. I'll try and take some pictures. link THey have a sale currently, so the cost was pretty decent. The figures are decent, if a bit average. A LOT of flash, so some clean up will be needed. Vehicles look great to my eyes. |

That's the problem with the Cold War: there are always more Soviets than you bargain for

LOL Some of these guys will be going through time and space to fight aliens, but I'm going to also look at some west germans or brits or something for them to fight. |

Geoff, at QRF, is sculpting some British guys for the Falklands, which would work well for the Cold War in Europe as well, circa 1982. They are due soon, once the proper penguin(s) to go in the molds are selected. They also have some West German minis as well. |

A little OT, but I have a bunch of QRF modern French Foreign Legion, and I really like them. These are going to be great for AK-47. |

These look cool makes me want to do 15mm as well. Also no such thing as too many Russians. |

I did the same thing with my FoW Soviets. I think I ended up with close to 3000 pts of infantry/hmg/mortars. |

The infantry is decent. A bit smaller than Peter Pig but on a gaming table I doubt you'd notice. Quite a lot of flash to clean up. |

Geoff, at QRF, is sculpting some British guys for the Falklands, which would work well for the Cold War in Europe as well, circa 1982. SLR armed, so should cover from about 1960 to the early 1990s (when the SA80 was introduced) They are due soon, once the proper penguin(s) to go in the molds are selected. Penguins are selected and will follow, British gone for moulding today
They also have some West German minis as well. Both early (G3) and late (G36) armed. |

Isn't it always the case that there are more Soviets than NATO bargained for? I refuse to consider the idea of 'too many' Russkies. We just call that a target-rich environment! *evil* |

Certainly means you can now try wave attacks

Geoff or others. Do you know when the G3 left service in Germany? Im sort of partial to that beast, since that's what I had when I did my military service in Denmark. |
| GeoffQRF | 25 May 2012 12:15 p.m. PST |
Well the G36 officially came into service in about 1997, so I guess about then. I'm not sure how quickly the G36 was phased in. The G3 is still widely used. If you like Danish, I have the Leo 2A6 and CV90 on the way

I thought we only had the Leopard 2A5 still, though I could be mistaken. I know we're one of the relatively few coalition partners that brought tanks to Afghanistan. I guess it'd be a pity to let them sit in a barn back home :) |

"Leopard 2A5DK (identical to a Leopard 2A6, but with various upgrades on the sight, target, communication and climate control systems, and without the L55 gun)" |
