Picked up years ago on Ebay. True 25mm scale. Back listing them now, but I've always wondered who the manufacturer was.

Anyone?

Look like Defiance Games to me.

Are you suggesting a time warp?

Sane Max24 May 2012 4:45 a.m. PST

I merely used the evidence of my eyes Bill.

Blobby ugly figures on badly made bases – check
Poor quality small Photo – check
An intense desire not to own them – check

If it looks like a dog, barks like a dog, smells like a dog… Arabianknight, have you tried passing your hand through them like they are holographic? That would form the final proof.

Of course, that would mean Tony had discovered Time Travel. All the labouring away, testing, sending helpless fluffy animals back to the time of Napoleon (Where IS Captain Gideon? Anyone heard from him recently?) would explain why there was so much delay on the finished product.

To be fair, the photo is my fault. The bases are std GW ones with painted sand. They are in exactly the same state I bought them in (painted, dipped and based) having never really used them at all.

They are real though…

Not Defiance then

Could they be from the old Starguard line?

arabianknight24 May 2012 6:24 a.m. PST

Unfortunately not, Von Teug. At least not according to the official site: tin-soldier.com/sg/sg1.html

Wow MCF, you really have an axe to grind with Defiance!

Arabianknight,
My first imprssion was Starguard as well. Is it possible that some Starguard figs have been discontinued?

Moomin Cage Fighter/Pat -whoever – is referring to US!

We just released a set of 28mm (1/56 scale) hard plastic multi-part future Marines – United Americas Marine Corps. They come 24 in a box for $29.95 USD. We are going to be releasing a set of Alien Bugs in hard plastic in a few weeks. And then the future German set – German Panzergrenadiers (which I personally am REALLY looking forward to!)

Here's what they look like:

Thanks Pat for mentioning us!

@ordinarybass: considering the age of the range very possible. a combination of scale and detail (or lack of) does ring early eighties at least.

"If it looks like a dog, barks like a dog, smells like a dog…" Truer words were never spoken….

On the other hand, those Defiance Marines look sweet as pie!

Arabian Knight, do you have a back view? I too would have guessed Starguard/McEwen Miniatures, but they seem a bit too stocky, and the poses not quite right to my eye.

Here you go, gisbygeo:
