Do you read or subscribe to Leatherneck magazine, the U.S. Marines publication?

Angel Barracks23 May 2012 8:43 a.m. PST

Sir no sir.

EDIT:
Just thought, that may offend.
Was not my intent, quite the opposite in fact.

I keep an eye on the Commandant's Reading List – which looks a lot like my office bookshelf anyway and take advantage of some of the digital information the USMC makes available, but I haven't subscribed to Leatherneck itself.

Shawn.

When my dad was still alive (23 year USMC Lt Col) he used to forward me all of his Leatherneck and Marine Corps Gazette magazines when he was done with them. Leatherneck was ok but Marine Corps Gazette was great. It is the magazine for Marine Corps officers, active and retired. Had tactical problems each month with the best three submitted solutions the following month. Taught me alot about both small unit and company level tactics.

Not to mention the mail section with discussions on USMC policies and new weapon systems.

While I do not subscribe I will catch selected articles online.

I do agree with leidang. Gazette is a deeper publication and I got more out of it when I subscribed to both.

Captain Swing23 May 2012 10:24 a.m. PST

Always read the Marine Corps Gazette when I could get hold of a copy.
Better than Leatherneck I think.
