A non-traditional game, with managing resource points/command-pips (CAPs) adding a layer of strategy. The almost unlimited combination of activations of the "Overdrive" mechanic gives a wide range of choices. The ability to pay exponentially extra for extra actions with a unit makes for tough tactical decisions.

A lot of multiplayer potential but hardcore simmers may not enjoy it as it borrows heavily from videogame concepts; in some scenarios you can 'respawn' troops which means games can be as short or long as you like.

There is a wide range of gameplay modes – I feel it would also work rather easily for near future hard sci fi with minimal tweaking.

Some very interesting ideas.

looks really interesting and like good fun, I'm a fan of the game so this appeals. Not sure it'd be more fun thatn playing the actual game tho…

Well, it'd let me play a scifi Battlefield/CoD game…which nobody's really done for the XBox 360 yet.

(No, I don't count Gears, The Bullet Sponge Game. Really, I just want a reskin of BF3 or MW3, and I'd be happy. Battlefront 3 is dead dead dead, though.)

Thanks! I was looking at this as a way of playing Ghost Recon/Rainbow 6 on the tabletop.

I heard recently that Battlefront 3 is back in gear with a new devlopment team. Might still be hope!

nvdoyle – I have my fingers crossed that they will release a BF: 2143 (a Sci fi DLC for BF3)as I found it the most balanced of the 'old' school tactical BF games…

..before they turned BF3 into a kiddie CoD ripoff.

very good review thanks a lot for your work!

here another interesting review: uluelsomalien.blogspot.it

the game is original with some smart ideas and a different approach. Is a great multiplayer game (4-8 players) and also a very nice and enjoyable two player game.

we never played any personal shooter so the game is not only for pc games enthusiasts.

finally the pdf is absolutely a valuable production, great photos, perfect size and easy reading. Really incredible the price, recommended !
