My attempt to paint this Laserburn mercenary 15mm.co.uk/501.htm in Australian camouflage called Auscam linkI tried to make these colourfull dots big enough to see them from tabletop height. Final result does not looks as I expected, comparing it to real Auscam. I tried to add more dots and make them smaller, but then all shadows and highlights on model become obscured by these dots
So I like my result. Yes, its not perfect but I like it. Remember its 15mm, not 28mm model. And if you paint 15mm model in realisicly proportioned camouflage its start to blend with gaming terrain. link |

No, looks great. It's all about EFFECT and I think the judicious use of the brown and grey spots gives a good impression of Auscam. I think some people make the mistake of trying to replicate the cam patterns in detail in 1:56 or 1:100 and it doesn't work. Yours does. Bravo! |

Great painting. That looks the biz. The first minis I got way back while I was at school were the Laserburn mercenaries. Great little figures. |

2 McWong73 Thanx mate! I've just updated painting on mini, by using Camo Green instead of Gretchin Green to make green spots more greeny. So its a bit outdated photo now. 2 Grey Ronin Saddly its hard to see it on photo, but I used Gretchin Gren, Snakebite Leather and Khemri Brown for spots. 2 Pat Ripley Its not Australian soldier, but sci-fi mercenary. So I decided to paint backpack in different colour to make it more distinctive. 2 Eclipsing Binaries I love Laserburn line too :) But I started to paint minis of ly 4,5 years ago after imigrating to Australia (I am 28 now, so I started wargaming at 24). My favourite Laserbur mini is this adventurer with rifle: 15mm.co.uk/114.htm

Works fine. I feel camo on 15's needs to be a bit exaggerated to get the effect across, especially when viewing the figures at normal gaming distances. Otherwise if all blends together and just looks like a blur. |

Looks pretty good to me. Perhaps a little drybrushing to the backpack, to tone it down just a bit, in order to get it to better match the grass on the tabletop. |

Hi FJ, not a bad effort, I used Auscam as the basis for my Colonial Marines, but with the release of Khurasans Exterminators, I will make these scifi Aussies (should have just done that from the start) link |

I just worked out when I would have bought Laserburn and the figures. I was probably about 14. I'm 44 now!!! These figures have aged better than I have :( |
