Boom, Boom Boom. Shell3 – coming soon. A view from the EWM work bench.
3 artillery barrage markers and shell holes all painted. The explosion markers are separate so designed to be removed at a certain point to leave a shell crater behind. A new approach to representing artillery shelling in miniature. Set comes with 3 painted shell holes and 3 explosion markers. Simply remove the explosion marker and leave the shell hole on the table at the start of the next round or phase. Now artillery strikes really do look terrifying!

You will be able to buy more shell holes and craters as well – See EWM Shell1 where you will be able to but 30 shell holes or "Ole's". To be released soon, a set of 30 different shell holes of various sizes. Cast out of high impact polystyrene, these are designed to be cut out and painted.

I would appreciate the Tmp members feed back before these new products are to be released.

Thanks for your interest

Hey you have some nice products for the Japanese. I will have to go back to your site and order a few to fill out my troops.
I like the shell holes. I would buy some as you can never have too many. Looks simple enough to cut out and paint. I do want them flush to the ground so there has to be enough flat material around each to allow for this. I could also see just painting the sheet as is. Nasty looking "No Man's Land".

David

How about a price? Maybe even in USD. Otherwise I like both ideas.

Update : well the feed back on these barage markers and the 30 shell holes on a sheet has been very positive, both on various forums and down my local club. There appers to be a market for these things so we go into production next week. Availability should follow shortly, I will advise on the forums and webstore.
Pricing is going to be £10.00 GBP for the 3 painted artillery barrage markers and 3 shell holes set. The 30 shell holes on a sheet will be £6.50 GBP.

I like the idea, but real shell bursts are a more round shape

Also fifteen bucks for three is a bit steep in these troubled times ;)- how about offering an unpainted option?

Thanks for your comments Number 4. Shell bursts come in all shapes and sizes and I think your pictures is an air burst? However, the explosion markers are hand made by my friend Peter Day, hand painted and toughened clump foliage. To offer an untainted shell hole seems a bit cheap when the explosion marker is so nicely painted? I did some questionnaires down my club and asked what people would pay for such a product. Most would pay more than the £10.00 GBP we will ask, again it's hand made scenary and therefore takes a while to make and will cost a little more? The 30 shell holes on a sheet were also put through the same "what do think, what would pay" questions and again, rates way in excess of £6.50 GBP for 30 shell holes I went for. You can then add as many shell holes that you want to paint yourself. These shell holes work out at 21p a hole, pretty good value if you compare to resin shell holes?
I do thank you for your thoughts though and hope you might consider reccomending or purchasing these in the future?

Best regards

OK, I'm definitely ordering a couple of sheets of the craters. When I looked at the first link I got the mistaken impression the bursts were cast resin not hand made – I actually make my burning vehicle markers the same way so I know what a fun job that is ;) Obviously a cast resin or metal burst would be a practical option for offering unpainted, so my apologies there.

The photo may be an air burst so a poor example, but I used to call in artillery for a living and every one I ever saw looked round from a couple of clicks away at least….. and for gaming we do need to distinguish one type of marker from another.

Also, if I bought painted craters I would likely have to repaint them to match the several different terrain cloths we use at our club.

Artillery barrage markers are now available. Sorry I should have posted an update when I released them earlier this month. They have been a complete 'hit' pardon the pun? We have sold out each show we took them to and have a backlog for orders currently. As stated , these are hand made and hand painted to get the quality we have, so please be patient if you do order these, the wait will be worth it.
