The 6mm dropship from OldCrow does makes a perfect dropship in 15mm even though its meant for use in the smaller scale its looks right at home in the larger scale, sometimes crossing over scales can work in your favor. I bought two of these models when OldCrow first released them at the annual Salute convention a long time ago, on the original dropships you notice that the intake vents on the main fuselage are just scribed on and not modeled open as on the later models, other than that they are the same.I really like what you have done with the wing mounted weapons they really do beef up the over all look of the model but i think the under slung gun turret is a bit to much or perhaps just to big, personally i have always felt that a gun turret on the upper fuselage just after were the wings are placed would be a good position for one. Im surprised to hear that you had air bubbles in you model i don't think i have ever found a single casting defect in any of the products that OldCrow produce and i have bought quite a few of them over the years, i know Jezz is always concerned about quality control
I posted up a few pics last year to show this model's size when compared with some bigger 15mm troopers, you would never know that it was meant for a smaller scale and i think it makes for a perfect light cargo hauler or troop transporter, I've assigned my two dropship'sto be deployed with my near future British Royal marines. |

Yeah the turrets are over the top but part of me loves it, its very much from the 'Avatar school' of dropship/gunship design.

Samulus, Awesome pics. By the way, which figure is that standing to the right of the spider drone (by the nose of the dropship)?
Thanks, Dan |

Its a really cool model and thanks for showing it with 15mm figures – but surely underslung guns would be ripped off as the dropship entered the atmosphere (assuming it's coming in from orbit of course)? Of course, it's SF and you can do what you want

Its a RAL indeed. Haha, hadn't thought of that! Shields perhaps? (my sci-fi universe has 'em). |

A) This is sufficiently awesome that I want to nick the idea and get a few for my own 15mm forces. B) Can't help but wonder what it might look like with some of Rebel's HAMR/Viper suit weapons attached

I'd bought one because it was big enough to be possible and cheap enough to be worth trying. Now I need to get back to the States to finish the project! |
