I'm running a DBA 3.0 Big Battle demo game at NashCon Friday night.

The game is loosely based on the Battle of the Green Fork from George Martin's Game of Thrones. It features Knight Wedges, shield walls, pike blocks, massed archers, warbands etc. and will help demonstrate all the new concepts from 3.0.

Whether Lannister or Stark – cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war!

BTW, trying to get a Space Marines game setup for Saturday morning…

Can I have a dragon and burn them all to a crisp? I just finished his last book and after almost 5000 pages I have had enough. No more! Nada! Niemal! He has such great characters and such a need for an editor. Look forward to seeing ya'll at Nashcon. I might even play 3.0, but only if Joe leaves his "C" game at home.

There are some really good additions to DBA 3.0 so I'm sure this will be a very interesting demo.

yes it will be interesting. There are some hardcore 2.2 players who will be there. I am curious on their feedback. They are already unhappy about some of the changes in the Army lists…the Samurai for example is only some being changed..

Rudy, the army lists are all being revised. I suggest nobody lose sleep, or evan a short rest over what is in them. Wait for the final list and then complain, or not. Phil is putting much work into these lists but not even those in the test group have seen the final version. Partly because the rules are being changed in such a way that the list will need to be changed.

Tom, sorry I cannot get by to play as i am curious to know how folks view the interesting changes. Maybe you can do a similar game at Historicon?

Maybe you can get Phil to provide a very up to date list for your game.

Thanks to all who played in the Battle of the Green Fork.

Got to say it was one of the best DBX experiences I've had in years.

DBA3.0 seems ideal for big battles with its emphasis on manever and combined arms.

I'm planning on running basically the same demo at Historicon. We had 6 Knight Wedges on the table – probably a world record and worth doing again.

We ran the game twice in the first battle "history" repeated itself with the Lannisters smashing the Stark center.

In the second Joe Collins thought he was Jamie Lannister rather than Tywin and charged his CICs Wedge directly into the fray only to be overwhelmed and captured.

Oh the ransom for Tywin! And as we know a Lannister always pays his debts…

If nothing else 3.0 is putting the fun back into DBX.

Great news that you will do the Big Game at Historicon. Do you have a date and time yet?

I hope you can get the most up to date lists for the armies from Phil so we can see all the new troop types in action, if any new ones in these armies.
