On a Google search, can you filter out? For instance, search for "tank NOT plastic" or something like that? |
| Timbo W | 18 May 2012 11:42 a.m. PST |
on the image search you can select black-and-white only, which helps for the WW2 tanks. |

Why not visit the various tank museam sites? |

If you narrow the search to both B&W, and photos only, that seems to reduce kit shots. |

What's kind of funny is that you Google about some obscure fact then start any kind of thread here about it and in about a day and a half you'll find the thread itself as part of the search result. |

Normally to ignore a category just put a minus sign (no space) after the first query with the areas to be ignored in quotation marks. So "Panther tanks"-"model Panther tanks" should get rid of the plasticy stuff. |

Tank -model should help. Haven't tried it yet, but if I recall you can use operations on google search. |

Nope. Using "Tank-model" gets even more model hits. Robert |

A lot of subjects are, well, subject to this effect, especially on Google Images. I've searched for traditional Russian buildings (or photos thereof) several times and found my Image Search feed flooded with results from wargaming photos and gaming companies. One of the shortcomings of internet search, I guess. Not sure what you can do about it, although I do wish Google hadn't canned their "Advanced Search" screen. All those advanced options are still available, but now you have to remember what they are and plug them into the regular search box
