At this year's Little Wars – ( littlewarsmelbourne.com ) I will be running a participation game called "Plains, Trains and Aerosans" which features a squadron of Soviet propellor-driven sleds chasing a German armoured train across the snowfields of Western Russia. The train is carrying a precious cargo which the Russians are desperate to recover. The game will be run using a home-baked set of rules, loosely based on the Wings of War/Glory concept, with movement cards laid in front of the model. So please feel free to come and join in. There will be enough models for 4 or 5 players and it's quick and easy to learn. And now the pictures:

This is the first time I've seen these pics – thanks Alan for showing 'em! This looks fantastic, certainly looking forward to seeing this in action at Little Wars!! |

That looks amazing – well done Alan! What scale tracks did you use? My friend has painted a Russian Civil War train and was discussing what sort of tracks to get. Maybe we could have an armoured train fight sometime? ;)

That's a very nicely painted version of the train (and with custom-made hand rails too I see). Thanks Ara, my tracks are hand made to S Gauge – an unusual gauge of track and impossible to find in Australia. The tracks need to be approximately 22.5mm apart. It doesn't have to be exact though, unless your friend has put a motor in the models. |
