At last I finished repainting "Matchbox" MRAP! In this link and this link topics you can see how this 2$ model loked before I repainted it. My first though was to paint it in desert camouflage like Turkish Kirpi BMC, but then I decidet to paint it in green camo.
I have no idea what type of camouflage I painted, because its not real camouflage, but upgraded old soviet Berezka Camouflage:
Here are some shots of front and rear of the vehicle. I placed some minis for size comparison.
Rear of the vehicle.
I sculpted roll of camouflaged fabric from greenstuff. I also have plan to place HMG on roof. Blog link: link |

Stunning! With your paintjob, it looks better than many 15mm kits and based on the pics in your earlier posts, it looks like it's perfectly scaled. |

This MRAP is close to Turkish Kirpi MRAP. Huge behemoth.
Here are Kirpi and human size comparison
And here is Matchbox one
Real
Matchbox
So I can say its almost perfect 15mm scale :) And door is perfect for 15mm figure. Does anyone knows how many passengers can fit into this MRAP? |

" Looks good. And cheaper than most 15mm kits, I imagine!" Most Hotwheels/Matchbox cars (including this one) are: $.88 USD at Walmart (USA) $.88 USD a Target $1.00 USD a Dollar tree and Big Lots! stores $1.25 USD a Dollar General (but $1.00 USD when you buy five) They can also be bought in boxes of five vehicles for $5 USD-$6. |

Excellent work, SirFjodin! Just goes to show ya that this hobby of ours does NOT have to be a "rich man's game" by any stretch of the imagination. I especially like your camo spec, and the fact that you added a whole extra layer of detail and authenticity by the simple expedient of just a single piece of stowage on the roof. Excellent. love that cammo scheme, really makes the mini pop, probably not what you'd want in real life but it looks wicked on the table. |

I have 10 of those waiting for my order from Rebel Minis. Planning on making my Marines totally mobile with these. Also have a couple of the dune buggie things that I'm using as recon. Cheap is the way I like it! |

Are both the figures from Rebel Minis? |
Cacique Caribe | 17 May 2012 6:19 p.m. PST |
PJ, The one on the right is definitely from Rebel. The one on the left seems to be one from 15mm.co.uk: 15mm.co.uk/114.htm Dan |

For those looking, I've seen a fair number of these at Target. I'm not sure if the kids just aren't interested, but they don't seem to sell that well. Being mostly a 28mm guy I haven't picked any up, but they are tempting, if only to experiment with. |

I am gonna use this MRAP for my sci-fi mercs. I use 6man, 7man or 8man squads, so I need 1 car for 1 squad
I need to buy more of these MRAPS. |

I have one MRAP and i just picked up a couple of Coyotes jeeps as they are of a very close design and the three will form an armoured patrol for one of my upstarted forces, more than likely they will end up with my Combat battalion/sci-fi SWAT force

I'd paint mine but I'm waiting on my turret cupolas from Rebel Minis to arrive. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. And yeah, AVAMANGO, the Coyote Jeeps do look kind of like some alt, soft-top, Humvee derived, all terrain, scouting truck. I bought eight of them and Jason Moore of Micropanzer bought some and is selling some painted in camo with a fixed forward autocannon sticking out of the passenger side windscreen. |
