Now there's a 'post-apoc' scenario…..ala' Crack in the World…
All the cumulative nuke tests have 'cracked'/shattered so much of the earth's MANTLE…(which filled in with molten material, sorta like 'blood clotting')….that we THOUGHT we were 'safe'….
1. But the radiation starts seeping UP all over the world and there are no 'safe' places…other than possibly Antarctica and some island chains….and it's a matter of 'move or die'….(although the radiation will still SPREAD…like 'On the Beach' (and remake)…
2. The 'patching' by the mantle isn't as 'good' as original material built up over eons…(think of how 'temp chuck-hole patching/hot patch' sometimes doesn't last long…) and HUGE chunks of the continents…around areas of nuclear tests…(especially underground)…start 'crumbling' beneath us….leaving massive, radioactive Sink-holes that just keep 'growing'….
3. Krypton Mk 2…..we finally managed to pull a 'Black Zero' and poison the earth's core so that it decides to go CRITICAL in a few years…and it's LEAVE the planet or DIE!!! as it blows itself to bits….(flinging the moon off into space, ala' space:1999 (only a base on the far-side might survive the blast??)
4. We have met 2012 and it is 'us'….as the continental plates start 'sliding around' (massive earthquakes/tsunamis) because all the nukes have 'lubed' them so they slide FASTER!!!!!
Isn't it a great time to be 'alive' to role-play all these possibilities BEFORE they happen?
Oh and as to the French bombing the SNOT out of the South Pacific….that's where they THOUGHT Cthullu was…but they only made him ANGRY….and waking him up over and over….
