Hello everyone, I am just back from a vacation to the UK and I was fortunate enough to meet two really good guys in wargaming that are in Scotland. Sholto Humphries from Scheltrum Miniatures and I met in Scotland and I picked up an order from him of medieval scots and islemen. On the same day I met with David from Claymore Castings and picked up an order from him as well. Both gentlemen were nice enough to meet my grilfriend and I and deliver the figures. We were able to share a pint and talk a little gaming as well. As far as the figures go, this was my first order with both companies and I have to say that both of these products deserve a hard look if you are building a scottish army. They are well sculpted and there is a lot of variety. The Scheltrum figures are slightly chunkier, but the two would mix together well in the same units I think because overall heigth is similar. I don't think that there are any better figures out there for medieval scots to suit the style that I am looking for (everyone is looking for something different and there are other fine products out there I am sure). I highly recommend both products and the gentlemen representing them. Allen |

On a closer examination I think that the Claymore figures are enough smaller that I would probably put them into their own units vs. mixing with the Scheltrum figures. Both are really nice figures though. Allen |

Yes I did! Unfortunately I was only able to make it to the visitors center and it's surrounds. I tried to sign up for a 7 mile walking tour done through the Heritage Center, but they told me that they had suspended the walk while they were building the new heritage center. I did spend a lot of time over by the Stirling Bridge battlefield though. I had a great day at Dunfermline Abbey as well. Then it was off to London where I took the "eccentric tour" and dragged my poor girlfriend to see the Magna Carta, the location of the Tyburn Tree and the gallows site, the last remaining section of wall of Newgate prison and the temple church. I also hit Westminster Hall and Abbey, round things off with a tour of parliament. Scotland stole the show though, the best people that a person could want to meet in my opinion. Allen |
