Hey everyone,

I finished my FoW Welsh guards armoured company.. not many pics sorry… but I wanted it to be a cheap option for small battles, so not many mini's mean not many pics.

And here is a few pics of some PSC 15mm Shermans I painted up for perhaps another Armoured company.

Thanks all !!

Would you think me a terrible human being if I pointed out that the Welsh Guards didn't have Fireflies…? Yeah, I thought so, sorry…. The "3 Cromwell 1 Firefly" troop was unique to the armoured regiments of 7th AD. Armoured recce regiments like the Welsh Guards there just had 3 Cromwells, until late '44 when they added a Challenger. Sorry.

Nice paintwork though; gotta say the camo net really adds something on the Cromwells in particular; just breaks them up a little and really helps the overall look.

Nice models – you will go to war in style with the Guards Armoured Division!
I find sporting a colorful cravat helps with the ambiance, and celebrating any wins with a chilled glass of champagne…

Guards Armoured Division Battle Honours:

18–23 July 1944 Bourguébus Ridge
30 July 9–August 1944 Mont Pinçon
17–27 September 1944 The Nederrijn
6 February–10 March 1945 The Rhineland

I had ordered some Challangers to fill out the force, but somehow the online retailer sent them to the wrong address, so while I await resolution in that matter, I added the Fireflys as proxies Challangers.

I should have mentioned that, but in my haste to post it before I left for work I fogot ! :)

Thanks all !

I think those are very nicely done indeed!

But I do have one minor nit pick: The tac signs on the Cromwells are blue. That would indicate the junior regiment of the Armoured Brigade, in this case 2nd Irish Guards, mounted on Shermans. The Cromwells of the 2nd Welsh Guards formed the division's Armoured Recce Regiment, and as an unbrigaded regiment the tac signs would be white.

cheers

Once you get the Challengers, you can use the Fireflies for an Irish Guards list with your new PSC Shermans.
