Not bad at all. Reminds me of the old days in the 60's to 80's before we had all sorts of metal figures come out for everything. Back then we converted ACW cavalry and Cowboys to the most bizarre of things.

A uniform Nazi would pick apart the figures but I won't I think you did an excellent job.

Those are nicely animated troopers. Well done.

Cheers,

I am the sort of person that can be defined an "uniform Nazi". Anyway I like them very much!

I had a friend who converted Airfix American Indians into Ancient Mauryan Indians.
He did a good job too!
Amd Airfix Zoo Set #2 didn't hurt either.

I converted French Cuirassiers into Carthaginian HC, with thumbtacks for shields.

Thank you all. The uniform is loosely based on the Prussian 13th Garde du corps cuirassiers from the SYW. However the hat lace is wrong (but looks better…) and the sabretaches are missing (those are a PAIN to sculpt..) so there is at least some historical basis :o)

Another "Uniform Nazi" signing in, and for "occupied Paris" Texas, y'all! My miniature schnauzer Heidi and I march through Paris every day after 5:00 PM. Too bad the folks here only seem to know about the Alamo, the Mexican/American war, and the ACW!

The figures look great, and could easily do double-duty as imaginations troopers!

Are the scabbards the correct gun metal shade?

Pijlie18 May 2012 5:24 a.m. PST

Yes. They are painted in Buttoncounter nr 1435c Prussian 17thct dunkelmetall. I cheated on the highlight though…..

Royal Marine10 Jun 2012 12:02 p.m. PST

Yeah .. I can see it now I look closer.

"Back in the day" this type of thing use to be part of the fun of gaming. Since you had a limited choice of figures, you had to convert.

Hey GdeP what scale is Heidi??? When you coming home???
