Here's a great video about Firefly. YouTube link And here's one on Serenity. YouTube link These made me go back and watch them both. |

With the success of The Avengers I bet Joss could make another movie if he wanted to. |

Joss could pick any project he wants to do with his recent successes in Cabin and the Avengers. He should revisit Firefly or, better yet, Buffy. |
| nvdoyle | 15 May 2012 9:49 a.m. PST |
After Serenity, I don't want him to do anything more with Firefly. |
| Caesar | 15 May 2012 10:03 a.m. PST |
He planned to do two more films, but the first didn't make enough money to support making others. |
| Proniakin | 15 May 2012 10:04 a.m. PST |
He did bump off some of the better characters in the movie. Although there's a soap opera/Dallas tradition to get around that-- the movie was just somebodies dream. |

@nvdoyle, nah, be glad it was made. He had the challenge of compressing was would have taken another several Seasons to do into a 2-hour movie, so we got one last hit of Firefly AND had the entire plot line wrapped up, so there's some sense of completion. The REAL question that will never be answered in any satisfactory way is why Fox pulled the Firefly series after just 3 MONTHS on TV
the last show may have been "98" on the Nielsen Ratings, but that represented 4.2 MILLION viewers, and a growing viewership as well. It wasn't instantly a smash hit so they pulled it?? Basically FOX produced it based on the strength of Joss Whedon's prior successes, then wasn't sure what to do with the very free-wheeling nature of the show, it aired episodes out of order, put it into a crappy time slot and under marketed it
and then were surprised when it wasn't a smash hit?? They should rather have been thrilled that despite their mistreatment of the show it gained 4.2 million viewers and had a growing audience trend. But, not to be

Proniakin has it. With Wash and Shepherd Book gone, there is too much of a hole for this storyline to be resurrected, IMHO. Also, the reason for River Tamm's mental difficulties has been solved, and the main reason why Blue Sun and the Alliance are after her has been answered with what happened on Miranda. Now, going forward with the remaining characters and reestablishing foils such as Badger, and villains like Niska might be interesting to pursue. Yet, I think the overarching theme of Mal's discontent with the overreach of the Alliance government may have to change considerably, especially with the revelations from Miranda. Just my $0.02 USD Andy Welkley "Your Phrendlee Hevy Phyzx T-chrr" P.S. Those were great video montages. Thank you very much for sharing! |

Same universe different crew could be done . Serenity makes cameo appearences |

I want to see the fall out from the events at the end of Serenity. Wash/Bishop are dead, that is sad but it opens some interesting doors. Zoe reverts back to the hard warrior woman she was during the revelation. Bishop has a back story that can explore without him. Might even work better if they do it after he is dead. River will gain more control and fall into a true jedi style role as the super warrior. It's a perfect setup for a second revolution. The alliance will always push the limits. They can go down the Biship rabbit hole and find some nasty stuff. It would set them up for Mal and the gang to take leadership roles in a whole new rebellion. It would be sorta poetic because they would be returning to fight the battle that chased them into the black the first time. |

One of the greatest TV shows and a great movie. I don't think there is any chance of it coming back. Too many actors have moved on to other things. You might get a movie, but that's a long shot. Shame thinking what it could have been. |

The sequel to Serenity was supposed to had been about Inara's terminal disease and a search for a cure. It is then discovered that the real reason that each outer planet has it's own particular terminal disease is because the central planets were bioengineering controls on the outer planet populations. The search would've taken the Serenity crew back to Miranda where they then encounter the last few Reavers. Another discovery is made that the Reavers are a telepathic hive mind and a now sane River is able to communicate with them. When Inara dies from her terminal disease, River adds Inara's essence to herself and professes her love for Mal. The Reavers, now aware of what they are and what they were, make suicide runs and drop canisters of Pax on the major planets of Londinium and Sihon which have a combined population in the billions. In short time, there are tens of millions of Reavers. The following sequel would've been about Mal and the outer worlds fighting the Reavers. Their only chance to survive is to make Inara-River the Reaver Queen. |

Arn't they remaking Buffy without Joss? I want the continuation of Angel.I know all about the comics but that was a kick ass ending cliffhanger. |
| Sergeant Crunch | 15 May 2012 7:32 p.m. PST |
Actually, I'd kind of like to see a prequel that follows Mal through the war. |
| charles popp | 15 May 2012 8:00 p.m. PST |
That would be cool. Maal is a very interesting character. One of the few strong male ones that Joss has done. |
| Ironwolf | 15 May 2012 11:08 p.m. PST |
I'd second a prequel of Mal & Zoe during the war and showing shepards back story. |

I'd second a prequel of Mal & Zoe during the war and showing shepards back story. Zoe's pregnant now. |
| Privateer4hire | 16 May 2012 7:03 a.m. PST |
Zoe could have been pregnant during the war so not a show-stopper. Baby doesn't make it, which helps make her character even harder bitten. That said, once Reavers were caused by midichlorians the story went downhill for me. I'm fine with no more movies or if they do, focus on another ship or group. |

Movies just can't deliver the story depth that a series does, so if we don't get more Firefly I'll be okay with it. I'll follow any new Whedon project. The real crime with the Firefly cancellation as far as I can tell, is that Nathan Fillion's recognition as a great lead adventure actor was cut short. By rights the studios should have been knocking on his door with offers to captain the next Star Trek series, or similar. He seems to have made it into the mainstream now, so that iniquity is corrected, although we SF fans are deprived. Coelacanth1938, are those sequel outlines from Whedon or made up? You have a source link anywhere? |
| Samulus | 16 May 2012 10:35 a.m. PST |
@ Coelacanth1938 – thats a quite cool idea he had but I think personally I'd prefer a civil war or something mixed in. The Alliance starts to fall apart and the previous independent planets, fired by renwed support, secede again. Personally, I never found the Reavers my favourite part of the story at all. |
| Coelacanth1938 | 16 May 2012 3:50 p.m. PST |
Those sequel outlines are what I've arrived at after doing a bit of detective work on my part. What I did was determine the most likely McGuffin after River's madness, which was Inara's terminal disease, and went from there. I would go to cons and talk to associates of Joss Whedon and using what I already knew, I'd tease bits and pieces from out of those associates and after a few years of work, this was what I had. I'm about 80% sure I got it right. I forgot to add that the reason Reavers do such violent acts to themselves and their victims is because they're like disturbed children who cut on themselves to feel sensation. After River makes contact with them, the surviving Reavers start to feel and react like normal people again. But after Mal rejects Inara-River's advances, those Reavers decide to undo the Verse from out of spite. |

Coel--interesting detective work and supposition, but if that's the way it was going I'm glad they didn't get a chance to make those sequels. Rob |

I would enjoy CorSecEngs story ideas. Though Wash's death is a little annoying Bishop can live through flash back |
