Very nice work.

I am working onm a similar project.

Where did you get information about the Swiss cavalry units?
I have found plenty about the quantity and types infantry from the original eight cantons but very little about cavalry units.

Are they meant to be Swiss cantonal forces? or are they allies from Lorraine or Freiburg?

Thanks
Mick

Hi Mick, Thanks,i too had found little on cavalry units, i have a unit of mounted crossbows which was fairly straight forward, but the men at arms were different, so i opted for allies and cantonal forces.
regards.

There is a little on the Murten panorama site.
The Swiss Confederation "also included 1,800 horsemen, mainly from Austria and Lorraine."

In the panorama picture, the Swiss cavalry is near to the Muenchenwiler Monastery at extreme right and labeled Confederate Rearguard.

Dear Ray,
I have seen the triangular Austrian flag (red with a white stripe) here on the cavalry in the Schilling painting of Grandson.
Is your other one on your model Thun?

Does anybody recognise the red infantry flag with a tree in the middle left of the picture?

Mick

I received the Murten Panorama book today.
The tree flag is Entlebuch whose soldiers fought bravely in the vanguard.
