I recently finished reading Lions of Carentan. It may be one of the best WWII accounts that I've come across – highly recommend it. There's a complete review on my blog: link John B TabletopHistory tabletophistory.blogspot.com |

May have to give that a look, I've read a lot of Bando and Ambrose, as well as "Tonight We Die as Men." so getting the German perspective is only fair. |

not to hijack, but for a great "german view" of the normandie campaign, get THE GERMANS IN NORMANDIE. by hargraves. highly recommended. |

I was disappointerd in it myself. It lacked a lot of detail concerning their engagements, especially maps. Not a bad book, but not what I expected either. |

Also look out for Poppel's – HEAVEN & HELL: The War Diary of a German Paratrooper. |

I've heard mixed reviews of Tigers in the Mud. What is the opinion from my fellow TMP'ers regarding Tigers in the Mud as a next book after Lions of Carentan? |
