"Modern 1/72nd-ish/20mm European or Asian Civilian Vehicles" Topic

I really haven't seen a discussion about this topic, but someone out there must have a good answer?

Other than the occasional VW, BMW, or Toyota Pickup offered by Matchbox and Hotwheels, is there a good place (for those of us in the USA and other places) to purchase modern (1970-2010+), European or Asian civilian vehicles that are compatible with 1/72nd-ish or 20mm miniatures? (diecast, plastic, resin, or metal? …and no, HO scale won't do.) There must be some diecast toy company out there making Russian, German, or Chinese (to name a few) civilian vehicles. I want automobiles, trucks, delivery/cargo trucks, construction vehicles, motorcycles, and more.

These could be used in lots of games (as window dressing, wrecks, and etc..) including Vietnam, Middle East, and any one of a host of Russian backed/friendly countries located in eastern Europe and Asia. When I set up a game, especially showing civilization, I like it to look like somebody actually lives there. A Chechnyan or East German village populated with Chevy's and Ford's just won't cut it. Am I asking too much?

I game in a much smaller scale and have a similar problem.
But then again most battlefields are or empty rather quickly.Most of the pics i see of Chechnia or the balkans the cars are charred burnt out shells..BUT I agree civilian vehicles are severly lacking only the Hobby den and S&S models have made an attempt in 20mm the eastern European Lada is a really nice model….Id love to see med and heavy trucks as well as cars from the 1960 and 70s for Nam and newer cars and trucks for today also but in 1/285th scale.

Go to 1/72 on the sidebar menu and you may find a wide variety of modern cars from around the globe. American, Euro, British, and a few Asian.

Looking for Russian/Eastern European might be a stretch.

Also I don't know such a good place to buy them online…

Theres a prolific Russian company making current Russian cars in 1/72 . Check ebay using 1/72 UAZ

Tomica/Takara/Tomy world are the main manufacturer of diecasts in the far east and make a lot of nissan/toyota/datsun vehicles … their 1/64 vehicles are on the small side and usable for all thing 20mm .
