The way I've been building my Chaos army I've assigned certain groups of allies/mercenaries to particular chaos powers. Nurgle gets Skaven and Undead Khorne gets Norsemen and Orcs Slaanesh gets Dark Elves But who should join up with Tzeentch? I'm not seeing any race/faction that has a 'Tzeentchy' feel to them. Any suggestions? |

Mebbe Chaos Dwarves? I've got Chaos dwarves for all six chaos factions
bederken.com/shop.htm They don't say 'Tzeentch' particulairly, but Tzeentch Halflings would be hilarious
. link Lizardmen, I suppose: I've seen various Chaos hatchings modeled on the net, and their arcanum war machine would look cool chaos-ed up. A Tzeentchian Coatl would be Fantastic!! |

The Tileans are one possibility, given that the region is supposed to be eternally unstable, ie. always changing. A shame Araby never made it into WFB aside from one obscure DoW unit. |

I'm not sure why the Dark Elves wouldn't also work for Tzeentch, just have them with more sorcery type stuff and without the witch elves. |

Concentrate on Chaos Beastmen (especially some of the weirder earlier ones!) thugs, warriors and knights? They could all have been changed in someway by Tzeentch. Just add mutations to mixed race unit – that would be very Tzeentch! |

Only problem with lizardmen is that they hate chaos so wouldnt make much sense for them to ally with any chaos guys. |

Thanks for the ideas! I had been considering the Slaan/Lizardmen
maybe because of the echoes of Robert E. Howard's serpentmen
who were always sorcerous. Is the Lizardman hatred of Chaos a newish thing? I don't recall reading that in the earlier editions I'm using. Either way I could just write-up a faction that has given itself over to worshipping Tzeentch. The points about them molting and changing are good fits as well. The early write-ups of Cold Ones had them as another offshoot of the ancient Lizardmen
so they do seem quite 'changeable'. Lizardmen/Slaan are a good fit for worshippers of Smith's/Lovecraft's Tsathoggua who has some parallels with Tzeentch (at least in Lovecraft's portrayals). And yeah, a Tzeentchified Couatl seems like a perfect fit. (I'm not sure what an 'arcanum war machine' is though
I Googled it and got hmmm
). I also considered the Fimir but it would be tricky to build a significant force of those, but I have a few already. I forgot to mention I stuck my Chaos Dwarves in with Khorne, seeing as he/it likes technological whatsits.
Good points about the Tileans and Dark Elves as well
Maybe a pirate-ish unit or two of just complete weirdness
beastmen mixed with psycho-hobbits and the stranger looking beastmen and Chaos Dwarves (and Chaos Goblins). Give them Thug or Marauder stats maybe. Ok, some good choices now. Thanks. |

I think snakemen would be good |
| jpattern2 | 10 May 2012 12:33 p.m. PST |
There are lots of Snakemen out there, including the old Citadel Chaos Snakemen which would slot right in. There are Snakemen with hind legs and tails: Ral Partha/Iron Wind Metals, Blood Moon, Grenadier/eM-4/Mirliton, and others. RAFM's Reptiliads also have more of a snake-like feel than lizard-like, if you want to go that route. Or you might prefer Snakemen with the bodies of large snakes: Reaper, Heartbreaker Chronopia, Rackham Confrontation, Excalibur, and others. |

The old Heartbreaker Chronopia Vulture Clan Dwarves, now sold by Prince August ( link ), would continue the bird-like theme of Tzeentch, along with several of the "birdier" Bederken Dwergs. Look for the Chronopia Talon Lord, the Mallet Warriors, the Crossbowmen, and the Gauntlet Leader, among others. |

The Slaan and Lizardmen have always hated chaos, that is not a new thing. Chaos destroyed the Slaan's polar warp gates. |

Chaos destroyed the Slaan's polar warp gates. Hmmm
I thought Chaos was let in by the destruction of the warp gates but I didn't know Chaos caused that destruction. Still, I think there is room for a faction of Slaan/Lizards who have gone over to the dark side. |

Slaan and Lizardmen all the way. |
