From the one picture I saw of the 3 ups I couldnt tell if the coming Warlord Romans are Marian/ Caesarians or earlier period Republicans intended for Hannibals Wars? Thanks for any answers. |

OK, I've been meaning to ask
I have an idea of what a 3-up is, but why is it called a "3-up"? |
| MajorB | 10 May 2012 2:19 a.m. PST |
but why is it called a "3-up"? Because it is three times the size (in linear terms). |
Uesugi Kenshin | 10 May 2012 2:20 a.m. PST |
Im assuming its 3 times the size the figure will be when ultimately produced? |

Always look larger than 3 times to me

Hadn't heard about new Romans from Warlord
..I would love either Caesarian/Polybian
..but still looking forward to the answer. When are they due for release? |

Q: will they be the stunted little dwarfs that are the current lot of Warlord Romans when they are produced? |
| Griefbringer | 10 May 2012 3:49 a.m. PST |
I am not an expert on Romans, but based on the picture I saw, they looked like late republican era Romans. Apparently there was another manufacturer (Victrix) displaying three-ups for early republican Romans. Both will probably be released when they are ready (ie. probably not very soon). |

Based on the picture here (6th photo down), I would say that these are for the Caesar period (100BC to 50AD) rather than Hannibal period. lurkio.co.uk/blog/archives/522 Mick |

The Warlord are Caesarian (late Republic), and the Victrix are Earlier, Punic-war types. |

Thanks to Mick & Scutatus for clearing that up. Good news indeed. I much prefer Marian/ Caesarian armies to the earlier Republican ones! |

Those Victrix Romans – further down – DO look like Polybian Romans. Oh, well, there goes a paycheck. |

It will be nice to finally have some decent Romans to fight all those plastic Celts out there! |

It will be nice to finally have some decent Romans to fight all those plastic Celts out there! Yes, absolutely. I'd still love to see some Punic Wars era plastic Romans. (They fight Celts too!) ;) |

"Do Caesarian Romans cut open their enemies stomachs?" Yes. Hardcore unit. Normally only deployed when the walls are in a breech position. |
