Sorry, but the third to last row of stones on the second ring is clearly not in the fashion of Later Numenorean stonework. Man, won't people ever get that right?
Great work. That's outstanding. |

Thank you all again! I plan on finishing it within 2 weeks. I was going to this weekend, but I have to work out of town. When it is finished, I am going back to painting the rest of the minis I have on my paint table, then I plan on setting up a battle, and will take photos. I have all the minis painted for it already. I have a large collection of the old school Harlequin LOTR minis. Thanks for all the great words, I really appreciate them all! Tom |

It is all modular. It breaks down into 7 large parts. The outer walls breaks down completely, just like any normal castle set up. I made it very modular for storage purposes. the mountains break up into 4 pieces, the cliff, then the 2 4 level wall sections. The citadel is removable as well. I plan on rebuilding the Citadel, but I was pressed for time. I have a another daughter on the way, so I am in a bit of a hurry to finish it all. I have lost alot of sleep making this
but is super fun to make, and I say anyone can do it
if you have the funds. Its easy, just need the right tools. tom |

I got most of my supplies from Home Depot and all the tools from the Hotwire Foam factory. I also bought a hotwire tool from Tippi, which is nice too. I used Locktite foam glue and Shelby misting spray to glue it all together. The misting spray was for when I needed to sculpt. The Locktite glue was used for precut parts I made. and I used latex paint and Design master paints. I used flat white trim paint to dry and wet brush the model. The model was made mostly using 1/2 inch extruded foam. I used polystryene or styrofoam for mostly foundation or mountians. All the bricks were done by a engraving tool. I also used Games workshop for the outer wall towers, and some of the sections, but I raised them about 2 inches taller and repainted them. I also used them to make my templates for battlements. It gave me a good reason to by 3 sets. (I had also wanted a set, but they were really small for my tastes in seige warfare.) Tom |

I would also (someday
along way from now) want to make Gondolin from the Silmarillion tale, The Fall of Gondolin. that would be a full Circle, and I would have to make it into 4 pieces
like 4 pieces of pie that slide together. But I have no room, in my massive game room that is full of too much terrain and miniatures
. I am a minisaholic and terrainaholic
.I have a problem. And I cant decide to be historical or fantasy
so I collect both in 28mm
and also 40mm Planet of the Apes
