Just added new unit of Akkadian spear to blog led by Sargon the Great. After defeating the Sumerian City States he went on to create the first Empire in the Near East. These were done with new Army Painter ink Acrylic strong tone-very nice to use. chariotgamer.blogspot.com |

Beautiful figures Colin. The more I see and read about this period the more it becomes tempting – it's so different from Classical (Greeks, etc and Romans). Great looking units. Which rules will you use and why? Many thanks for sharing with us. |

Hey, Colin, if you ever make it to Glasgow on a Tuesday evening one of our club members has a Sumerian army that needs a fight

Skeptic- Sculptures are Monolith Designs (still some of the best). M Maximus- figures are based Impetus style but we play Clash of Empires as friends keen on this set and not into rule hoping and changing. These rules are good for chariot period and give a fun game without too many figures required especially reducing to 2000pts. Caliban-Tuesday evenings are good but Dundee too far to travel from. Pity as Sumerians a good opponent for Akkadians. However Akkadians would be good army for your painting skills. I believe the Chariots/Carts for Akkadian and Sumerian from Cutting Edge are 2 weeks or so away. I have a good feeling these will look good as Ebob is probably doing onagers/donkeys. |
