Hi everyone,

I have just posted a review of the rules entitled Corner Kick!: Rules for playing the world's most popular sport-- "in miniature" by Bob and Jeff Wiltrout over on my blog.

If you like football, and miniatures, have a look. I really enjoy these rules.

I hope the review is informative to interested parties. Cheers!

That's a great question: I entirely forgot to mention in my report that the rules provide for a point based system as well. Thanks for the question and I will update the review with this bit of info to make sure you aren't the only one left wondering.

What figures do you use?

Just to let you guys know there is a Yahoo Group called FOOTBALLGAMES designed to talk about Corner Kick (CK) and The Beatiful Game (TBG).

We had a group called Footygames but it kinda disappeared maybe two months ago.

Cimmerian, I would love to see how you rate the various teams. We have rated Arsenal and the Spurs and would like to see the differences. Also to get a view of Newcastle and Sunderland would be fun, but that is a lot of stripes to paint. Also what are your ideas for special rules? We are quiet interested.

@Comrade – we use the old AlphaCast mostly but they are hard to come by. Right now there is Eureka minis out there, but there is some interesting developments coming out over the next few months. A gentleman in Arkansas should have a new line of 28mm figures out this Summer hopefully. They come with separate heads, so you can attach the heads that you want. You can even convert Zulu heads or others to try to get different looks. (We did that for certain players, but that was with the Alpha Cast, these should be much easier. He has plans to make different kinds of heads.) Also Rebel Minis should be coming out with a line of 15mm soccer figures soon.

More details at the yahoo group – footballgames.

If you want to try Corner Kick – there will be 4 games run at Historicon this Summer.
