Do any of the manufacturers of 15mm ACW produce figures in the 'chasseur' style uniform associated with units like the 44th and 84th NY as well as the 72nd PA? My impression is that most of the "zouaves in kepi" figures are not suitable as they have pants that are way too baggy, sashes, and leather leggings. Here's an example of the 44th NY:
Here's a Keith Rocco rendition of the 84th NY:

Unless they have some slight error that I don't know about, I believe these Old Glory figures will work very well. |

Will the Battle Honors figures not work either? |

I've got the Old Glory line and their pants are baggy like zouaves. Still they are nice figs! |

I would check out FreiKorps they are a little small but great figures. They are easily the most accurate line. link They even make actual Chasseurs though on the site they are mislabeled 23rd PA and not 83rd PA If you need a size comparison let me know. I can snap a pic of their 39th NY next to Old Glory 15s Zouaves |

The Battle Honors figure's pants are not as baggy and would work as chasseurs. It's funny how manufacturers take the Zouave pants and then put kepis or forage caps on them. Zouaves and Chasseurs were different. Chasseurs usually(not always) had the less baggy pants and and a kepi. And not all Zouaves had really baggy pants but always wore a fez and or turban. KnightTemplarr, the 23rd PA was a Chasseur regiment until there uniforms wore out around the time of Gettysburg. |

After examining the photos on their website only, it appears that the AB Civil War figures (Eureka Miniatures) are close to the Chasseur style. Can anyone confirm?

It seems that a lot of the uniforms of various zouave units. I've done some checking on it because it had come up on a previous thread that zouaves absolutely don't wear kepis (which is completely untrue) but it does seem that some zouaves had less baggy trousers like chasseurs. Maybe Chasseurs had variant baggy to non-baggy (I'm not sure on that though). Now it may be that Zouaves of the ACW are different than the ones that fought in European wars, but I've also found photographs of Papal Zouaves that wore kepis. So I guess what it really comes down to is the chosen uniform of the unit, and as far as I'm concerned if The 11th NY Infantry Ellsworth Zouaves; First Fire Zouaves; First Regiment New York Zouaves; U.S. National Guards, calls themselves Zouaves, they are Zouaves. link

Russ, are there any plans at Old Glory to cover 'chasseurs' (as mentioned above) in your 18mm Blue Moon range? |

They even make actual Chasseurs though on the site they are mislabeled 23rd PA and not 83rd PA Which one? link These are trhe original Freikorp labelling of 'Birney's Zouaves' which are, I believe, the 23rd PA |
