Interesting piece in the above on Civil War sketch artists with some nice examples.

Also small piece on photography of reenactments using period methods.

Edition comes with a nice educational poster of the march to Gettysburg backed with a Civil Rights time line on the other side for those who could use it in Schools.

It's a nice article. I subscribe to NG and I was very pleased to see the article and the poster.

Just got my copy today (the Missus subscribes)

Nice edition – I think I may frame the map

Yes I saw that, well done.

I was going to claim you as one of our own in my OP but thought that might a bit cheeky! :o)

If anyone has an iPad, check out the digital edition. It has an interactive map/timeline, March to Gettysburg, of two ACW regiments showing their movements on a map day by day for an entire year. I really wasn't expecting much from the "tablet edition" of NG, but it is very well done and the interactivity really does add value rather than just being a schtick. The photos also look astounding on the new retina screen if you've got the latest.
