In the Force on Force rulebook, lists are provided for three U.S. forces: Marines, Army, and Stryker Brigade. Which would you be most likely to field?

* Marines
* Army
* Army: Stryker Brigade
* other
* not interested in U.S. forces for Force on Force
* not playing Force on Force

Grand Duke Natokina30 Apr 2012 12:16 p.m. PST

Having been Army, William, I would probably do Army or Army/Stryker.

epturner30 Apr 2012 12:31 p.m. PST

Ahhh, Stryker….

That's the sound they make when they crash on RT 322 north of Harrisburg or, most recently, into a Punxatawney Phil sign in Punxy.

I'd play Bad Guys just to blow one up.

But, were I to choose, it would have to be USMC.

As my now retired Supply Sergeant (and former Vietnam Marine) told me when I was a Cav Squadron S-4, "There's Strong, then there's Army Strong. Thank God we've still got the Marines."

Sergeant Paper30 Apr 2012 12:33 p.m. PST

Marines as first choice, or Stryker.

Armand Beaulieu30 Apr 2012 12:35 p.m. PST

Definitely Stryker Brigade for me

whoa Mohamed30 Apr 2012 12:44 p.m. PST

For the Invasion USMC or UK.
For Falujja 2 USMC or ARMY
For 2006 and Beyond US Army
The only dif In the US lists is a IFV based Platoon which does not get a weapons squad as the Brads fufill that roll.
The AB,Strait leg and stryker are basicaly the same.
Using the Infantry Platoon as a base with it having a 4 man Hqs x3 9 man rifle squads with 1 Squad leader x3 9 Man squads each with 2 4 man fire teams and a SL..a weapons squad of 2 MMG with team bonus.
You just plug in Humwvs,strykers,IFV,MRAPS or Banana Boats for transport….

Lobsterback30 Apr 2012 12:47 p.m. PST

Stryker

Irish Marine30 Apr 2012 1:01 p.m. PST

USMC all the way

Joep12330 Apr 2012 1:10 p.m. PST

USMC for me.
Thats what I built for Ambush Alley, when it first came out.
The nice thing about 15mm is I can also build a US Army and Styker brigade as well
And some Brits:-)
Joe

GROSSMAN30 Apr 2012 1:12 p.m. PST

Statistically Marines.

CPT Jake30 Apr 2012 2:11 p.m. PST

Right now I can do reg Army inf, Ranger units, or Bradley mounted. I would LOVE to do a Stryker unit but no one makes the vehicles I need in 15mm.

Generalstoner4930 Apr 2012 2:53 p.m. PST

Marines for me. My other western forces include british, germans, and french.

Cerberus031130 Apr 2012 3:10 p.m. PST

Marines. Both US and UK. Have the whole globe covered that way.

Marines.

HistoryPhD30 Apr 2012 4:54 p.m. PST

Army, having been in that branch

WarDepotDavid30 Apr 2012 5:15 p.m. PST

I play all and others

Dynaman878930 Apr 2012 6:21 p.m. PST

other – I play scenarios.

138SquadronRAF30 Apr 2012 8:04 p.m. PST

USAF – carpet bomb the Bleeped texts then send in the ground pounders to clean up the mess.

Lion in the Stars01 May 2012 2:51 a.m. PST

Well, I *have* a Stryker platoon, which also doubles as a leg platoon if I leave the Strykers in the box.

Should probably add Royal Marines at some point, just for some different support options.

CPT Jake01 May 2012 3:03 a.m. PST

Stryker platoon without any of the Stryker vehicles organic to the company, i.e just the ICV with a .50 can be done with the QRF Stryker.

However the ICVs almost never work alone and you can't field the support they need (nor have 2 with .50 and 2 with MK19), you can't go to higher than platoon level in 15mm.

And that is a shame.

GeoffQRF01 May 2012 3:44 a.m. PST

Wait, wait, I'm getting there….

Dances with Clydesdales01 May 2012 3:58 a.m. PST

All, but currently looking to build an Army Ranger unit.

CPT Jake01 May 2012 4:42 a.m. PST

Geoff, That is a good thing, but I've been waiting (more or less) paitently for about 5 years…

pzivh43 Supporting Member of TMP01 May 2012 7:53 a.m. PST

Marines, but would like a Stryker force. Or some LAVs for that matter!

Patrick Sexton Supporting Member of TMP01 May 2012 8:47 a.m. PST

I have Rangers, Delta and Marines (for Mogadishu/Somalia in general).

Splod8901 May 2012 5:21 p.m. PST

Rangers lead the way! I'm also currently working on a Stryker troop in 20mm to assist my Rangers and ADF should some high level actions be needed.
I've worked with Marines, I'm pretty happy leaving them off my table.
